Lovely Hotel, very friendly staff and comfortable rooms. We had a great one night stay at the George Hotel to visit the Historic Harbour (get your tickets for the Harbour with Tesco points £7 each, saving approx.. £20 Each). The food was fantastic (recommend the Chilli) never seen my partner eat so much (Beef Stew & dumplings) but still found...

Lovely atmosphere. Smiley, welcoming staff. Reasonably priced drinks and an extensive food menu. Loved the 'well' seat....a lovely and novel feature and definitely a talking point! A comfortable and very enjoyable afternoon...would highly recommend!

ROOM 6 As a 'seasoned' Trip Advisor contributor I like to take a gamble now and then - and this one has certainly paid off. This little gem is one to visit, a proper pub serving proper drinks in traditional surroundings, the room is nice and has an original fireplace and nice firm bed and no MDF or chipboard in...

Due to a delayed flight we arrived nearly two hours after closing time - the assistant manager stayed to welcome us after working all day - very much appreciated. Room adequate and clean. Breakfast excellent with quality ingredients.

Brilliant location, room clean , comfortable bed , bathroom a little dated but clean . Parking available but not after 6 pm ideal if you are not using your car , but not suitable for us as needed the car as visiting family . Breakfast nice but service a little slow , staff friendly and helpful , would definitely stay...

Great pub, good food, comfortable rooms, welcoming staff and secure car parking BUT the real clincher is that it's only 5 minutes walk from the Historic Dockyard main gate and 10 minutes walk from Gun Wharf shopping. If you want an overnighter for a ferry, the terminal is 10 minutes drive away. WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE

Whilst most of the on duty staff can't be faulted there was more than a slight concern that this hotel was pushed to qualify for the 3 stars that were so profusely advertised. The evening meal was indeed good but the breakfast was quite lacking in variety. The room was quite basic too.

We eat here quite regularly. Nice atmosphere and the staff are always friendly. The menu is not huge but always varied, (which in my mind is a good thing) I can honestly say that I have never had a bad meal. No hesitation in recommending it.

Found this haven by error. Left the historic dock and instead of heading towards Gunwharf Quays we headed to town. Tasty home cooked food, with well stocked bar including real ales. All very reasonably priced. Resturant, ambience staff and locals very welcoming.

Decided to try The George because a friend said the Ale was good. It was, very good! So good we stayed for a few and food. The meals are home made - not out of a packet. portion size was large - if you are hungry this is a good option. Chicken ham and leak pie was delicious. Just under...
