We have just come back from the Ibis in Portsmouth. Although I didn't like the decor, I found the staff very friendly. We chose this hotel because the parking was good and they are pet friendly. Our little dog was welcome, and we appreciated he was allowed to be with us, wherever we went in the hotel. Some places have too many rules. We didn't have breakfast, so can't comment. The only downside was that the bathroom was very tiny. Some people would have trouble sitting on the toilet due to space. But it was central to visiting the Historic Dockyard and the Mary Rose. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

I stayed for 3 nights, had 3 different rooms, first room had plumbing problems, not disabled, so I could not have used the shower anyway, second rook, shower faulty, but this was a disabled room, third room, OK, everything worked.

Small rooms with the tiniest bathrooms I’ve ever seen! I’ve stayed in Ibis hotels for years and this was the worst. Just can’t understand why any hotel could choose such a dreary decor - principally battleship grey and black. The bathroom (shower room) is really tiny and there’s hardly any storage space. The Southampton Ibis was so much better! The breakfast staff were hopelessly overworked and were running around trying to keep everything stocked with hardly enough time to clear tables. I’ll be more careful in future in choosing an Ibis.

Stayed one night for work commitment, as usual check-in was no issue. The receptionist was as always very friendly and very service minded. The rooms are small, but was found clean. Rooms are well equipped with a small desk and smart TV. As commented on many times before the mattress needs an upgrade as sleep was not as good as it could be but pillows have been replaced. Breakfast was again a bit disappointing, not ready for opening time and several items were cold. Not sure what happened to the scrambled egg but they were awful and inedible. This is a shame as the produce is actually not bad. The breakfast team seems very untrained and it is now time to get back up to scratch as the hotel is very busy. I have mentioned this previously also.

Right next to busy road. all we could hear was road traffic. No AC either in 2021!!! The AC might actually help block out the road traffic sounds too - 2 birds with 1 stone... Other than that it's an ok hotel - a bit over priced if you ask me
