Very over priced drinks. Young “manageress” with a bit of an attitude who needs to go on a customer service course. Hopefully this is just a temporary blip and it will go back to being a decent music pub. Definitely needs a more grown up management.

Would give 0 stars if possible. We arrived at the jolly sailor on arrival the building looked rather run down but because we was only staying for the one night we thought it was going to be ok. How wrong we was. On booking it said there was free parking but that wasn’t correct which I didn’t mind as it was only £3 for a parking permit. Upon being shown our room we was greeted with a large stain on the floor which looked a lot like feacal matter and there was hair in our pillow case. The bin had rubbish in it on arrival. The room would have appeared to have not been cleaned as there was a makeup brush which I can promise you wasn’t ours. The shared bathroom has skid marks down the toilet and there seemed to be pubic hair in the shower. We quickly got out of our room and booked another hotel. I feel this sort of service is very poor especially with COVID 19 around. would never recommend to stay here to any one.

Approached this booking with trepidation due to some very nasty reviews, all I can say is they must want Ritz treatment at budget price Room was clean and tidy, yes some areas may need a bit of tic BUT like all business it has just been through lockdowns. Bar was closed but this was due to owner giving staff night off due to their hard work over the festival weekend and well done to him. It did not impact on our visit at all. Owner friendly and helpful and at the end we got what we asked for, a clean warm room for the night at sensible price. Yes we will be back again,

The lady on reception was very welcoming, she even offered to carry our bags, which we did say no to. We thought how nice to get the offer though. The room and en suite bathroom was clean and tidy. There was loads of tea and coffee supplied. This was ideal as we were going right opposite to Victorious Festival. Cost was £100 for room only which was cheaper than ones we have stayed at previously. Thank you Jolly Sailor as you even gave us a sea view room, we had a good nights sleep as the big brass bed was really comfy.
