Southampton was only a one-night stop on our trip, so we arrived late afternoon and left the next morning. We opted for a better standard than the cheapest "bed & breakfast" (and accepted a higher price) - that's why we chose the Elizabeth House Hotel and we were not disappointed with it. The first impression was a bit negative - the hotel parking was extremely crowded. It turned out, however, that the vast majority of cars are "long stay residents" (their owners are on cruises), and – with the help of nice receptionist – it was possible to find place. There are many positives about this hotel: large and clean room with a spacious bathroom, good breakfast with very nice and friendly chatty staff and I also liked the lobby with its design (you are sure that it is in Southampton). The only thing I would change (for ourselves), was the location of our room, as the windows were to the side of the busy street. Thanks to heavy curtains it was possible to cut off the light from outside, but the traffic noise could not be completely suppressed. Anyway, it was a minor problem - if we're in Southampton, we'll probably choose this hotel again but we'll just ask for a room with the windows not facing the street.

Stayed for 1 night in October as we were going on a cruise and booked parking for 13 nights at the hotel. The hotel I would describe as tired and is over priced. The room was clean but was well worn, and no hair dryers available. Breakfast was chaotic to say the least and we waited 30 minutes to be served coffee, there was one member of staff who was struggling with the volume of people, waiting to be served, somebody from reception eventually came to help him out. The parking was not particularly good and cars were constantly being re arranged around the back of the hotel, it was haphazard to say the least, and there were not designated areas of parking. Would not use again as it was over priced and not happy the location of where my car was left.

Dear Guest, Sorry to hear that your recent visit with us was not up to our usual standard. We have now completed our brand new executive rooms, in which case this winter we have earmarked our intended on-going refurbishments in the existing hotel. Unlike other cruise parking facilities we Do Not Touch your vehicle or move it at all, I would assume your reference to 'cars being re-arranged' is customers collecting their vehicles on return of their cruise. Space is not an issue, we have expanded into the adjacent buildings and therefore providing a lot more space for customers. Nonetheless, our cruise parking facility is 24hr CCTV monitored and there is a member of staff on-site throughout the day and night. We still offer the best value cruise parking in Southampton, from £4.75/day and is very popular. I hope you choose to stay with us again at the Elizabeth House Hotel, I would love to welcome you into our new executive rooms. Kind regards Edyta

Stayed on Friday night, we had a very warm welcome, the hotel offered easy and spacious parking, my room was very clean room and comfortable with soaps, shampoos and spare towels, complimentary tea/coffee facility with biscuits etc. The full English breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and professional. Check out was easy and slick.

Dear Roger, Thank you for your comments on your recent stay with us, and I apologise if we have fallen short of your expectations. As I'm sure you're aware we have a lot of regular customers who use our excellent cruise and stay offering which proves to be quite popular, but as we've expanded into the adjacent buildings, we have more than enough space for overnight guests as well as cruise guests. I would encourage everyone to check with the reception team here and they will find a space for you. With regards to the breakfast service, I apologise that this was not up to our usual standard. When things are busy, unfortunately mistakes are made which should not happen. I hope you enjoyed your cruise and I wish you well for the future. Kind regards Edyta
