Southampton was only a one-night stop on our trip, so we arrived late afternoon and left the next morning. We opted for a better standard than the cheapest "bed & breakfast" (and accepted a higher price) - that's why we chose the Elizabeth House Hotel and we were not disappointed with it. The first impression was a bit negative - the hotel parking was extremely crowded. It turned out, however, that the vast majority of cars are "long stay residents" (their owners are on cruises), and – with the help of nice receptionist – it was possible to find place. There are many positives about this hotel: large and clean room with a spacious bathroom, good breakfast with very nice and friendly chatty staff and I also liked the lobby with its design (you are sure that it is in Southampton). The only thing I would change (for ourselves), was the location of our room, as the windows were to the side of the busy street. Thanks to heavy curtains it was possible to cut off the light from outside, but the traffic noise could not be completely suppressed. Anyway, it was a minor problem - if we're in Southampton, we'll probably choose this hotel again but we'll just ask for a room with the windows not facing the street.…
Stayed for 1 night in October as we were going on a cruise and booked parking for 13 nights at the hotel. The hotel I would describe as tired and is over priced. The room was clean but was well worn, and no hair dryers available. Breakfast was chaotic to say the least and we waited 30 minutes to be served coffee, there was one member of staff who was struggling with the volume of people, waiting to be served, somebody from reception eventually came to help him out. The parking was not particularly good and cars were constantly being re arranged around the back of the hotel, it was haphazard to say the least, and there were not designated areas of parking. Would not use again as it was over priced and not happy the location of where my car was left.
Stayed on Friday night, we had a very warm welcome, the hotel offered easy and spacious parking, my room was very clean room and comfortable with soaps, shampoos and spare towels, complimentary tea/coffee facility with biscuits etc. The full English breakfast was excellent and the staff were friendly and professional. Check out was easy and slick.
We stayed at the Elizabethan House Hotel In Southampton and we had an excellent stay there. The staff were very friendly and helpful particularly Wendy who looked after us very well. It is very useful for cruise parking too. We had a lovely stay there and we would definitely stay there again
