Very disappointing. The communal area carpets were grubby, stained and generally dirty. In the bedroom we had it was just as bad. Our sink was cracked badly, as was the bath. The heater was singed, burnt and not clean. Hairs on the floor in bathroom. Only stayed as we had no choice.

Clean and warm room. Staff we dealt with were very good and helpful throughout stay especially at reception desk on arrival and again at breakfast. Good location and easy to get to with some bars and restaurants close by. Thanks

A perfect place to stay with in walking distance of the town centre and port. The staff were outstanding and very friendly. The food was good value and well served. The room were clean and everything worked well.

Value for money is 5/5. Size of room is good (4.5/5 - same size as Premier Inn, smaller than Jury's Inn, bigger than Moxy). Look of room is okay (3.5/5) but not too important, especially considering cost. Soundproofing/noise levels between rooms is okay (3/5 - you will only get better in Jury's Inn or Moxy, or other newer hotels - I've heard noise from 'neighbours' in all 3 Premier Inn's and in Travelodge (this one) but you do get a fan in your room (which I use as 'white noise' to mask any sounds)). WiFi is 5/5 (cannot beat it so far). Location is 5/5 (can't really beat it). I've never eaten here so cannot comment on food, but can't be worse than Premier Inn. Overall, Travelodge (Southampton Central (not Lodge Road, which is poor)), is very good for the price and has some good options that other hotels do not have (e.g. you can pay £10 extra for 12pm check-in).

Crusty taps, with stinky stains on the carpet. Not acceptable, disgraced. Disappointed. Inconsistency with comfort of beds. The reason the extra star from 1, was the double beds (as they should be). Dunkin McOkiner x
