Stayed overnight on the old bakery. The food was good, the staff friendly, the locals great. The village is so cute and quaint and the church is really interesting. Handy to Winchester, but nice and quiet.

Beautiful pub, set in most picturesque village location. Arrived for our 3 night stay to be met by the friendliest of staff. Our room was perfect, overlooking the green which was being set up for their annual beer festival ( a definite bonus for our stay!)The room was lovely, wonderfully comfortable beds and nicely decorated. The bathroom was modern and...

We booked in to stay at this pub as we were visiting friends locally. We were pleasantly surprised. The room was so comfortable, clean and freshly decorated. Such a lovely stay in such a lovely part of the country and so quiet at night. The breakfast was good and the staff very friendly. We didn't dine here but the menu...

Booked a table on a Friday evening at 6:00pm for a 6:30 sitting without a problem. I know it was early but the place didn't exactly fill up either. The bar was nicely laid out but folks hogging the bar I find irritating especially when there are enough seats to go round. Very prompt service and good range of beers....

Thank you for your review. Being a traditional English country pub we absolutely offer traditional English pub food and, like all our food, is all freshly made on the premises - using quality, locally sourced ingredients. Alongside our ‘Pub Classics’ menu we always have a selection of specials which were clearly detailed on the menu you were given and on...

Had a fabulous stay in this great old pub. The rooms are spotless, comfortable and have great character, the food is excellent - you should try Anthony's cauliflower risotto, it's superb - and the staff are just about the best I've met - friendly, helpful and nothing too much trouble! And what's more the village is pretty, peaceful and easy...

We booked to take the family to the pub for Sunday lunch. Six adults and 2 children aged 6 & 2years. The food was delicious but we had to wait a long time for our order to be taken and then 45 minutes to be brought out. I then had to ask them to clear the dishes away after another...

This is a great little pub in the village of East Stratton, easy to find just off of the A33. East Stratton is a tiny village and the pub looks out onto a lovely green with benches that you can sit at in the Summer. As this was November, we sat inside. The pub is quite traditional, with a slate...

Service, location, rooms, food... You name it all superb! We stayed in the newly reno'ed dairy and it was perfect as a couples retreat. We will absolutely be coming back again as we try and explore the area more. You're a fool if you stay anywhere else!

Busy village pub set in nice picturesque surroundings, beautiful old building with loads of character. Very comfortable bed & bedding, our best nights sleep ever away from our own bed. Excellent food from the restaurant for the evening meal, & a very tasty cooked breakfast with fresh local produce. One of the best B&B's we have ever visited. Well done...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Welcome to the Northbrook Arms - a traditional village pub with letting rooms. The pub itself is owned by Lord Northbrook and has been part of his family estate for generations. We are situated in the idyllic village of East Stratton just minutes from the A33 between Winchester and Basingstoke. The pub boasts two gardens – the green opposite the pub which is perfect for catching the sun all day long, and the pretty country garden to the side of the pub which has an enclosed area at the bottom where children can play safely. We also have a traditional Skittle Alley in the beautiful old stables – with its own bar, space for dining and of course the Skittles – it is the perfect place to have a party or function. ... more   less
