Having read the reviews prior to booking, I felt I had a pretty good idea of what to expect should we decide to stay here and so decided to give it the benefit of the doubt. How glad I am that we did! Whilst people are correct in saying that it’s not the cleanest of places, its location and John’s...

This B&B is everything a B&B should be. Its a little like visiting family. There's no TravelLodge emptiness, the house is lived in and full of lots of interesting books and antiques, and if you are looking for a hotel style (clean, white, pristine, nondescript) this is not the place for you. John is a wonderful host, very easy to...

Although I am not the star war fan, the experience was not star war like. Stay in the house used to be Obi-Wan Kenobi's property can still be a great story to tell. The place was quite decorative with culture and artistic style. The location is very convenient. The cats are lovely. John is very friendly and willing to tell...

John is a very welcoming host, but his home leaves a lot to be desired. The bedrooms are tired and cluttered, and he needs to understand that it is not acceptable to have cats walking all over kitchen surfaces, where food will be prepared. We elected not to stay the night.

I made the mistake of failing to read the reviews on Wolvesey View before booking a weekend stay. On now reading the review by Michelle M, I find that account proved to be a very accurate picture of the accommodation. John Holder is a kindly, cultured and interesting gentleman who made us welcome to his very "lived in" home, freely...

This warm & charming B&B is a stylish & elegant 3 bedroom B & B in a very close walking distance from the cathedral, Winchester College and the town centre (previously owned by Alec Guinness'mum). The owner, John, is a charming & cultured man who gave sound advice and input on tourist sites and was happy to chat, lend books...

I have read most of the reviews on here before and after I booked so here are my thoughts. Don't book this if you are looking for a palace - it is a home with clutter if you are fussy about decor also avoid. If you don't like a shared bathroom don't book it it is the people, who use...

Prior to booking we read the reviews on this B & B and thought it was a great choice. However the only really good thing about it was its position and its parking. We were able to leave the car for the two days that we were there and walk easily to everywhere in Winchester. This was a very big...

We are a family of 6 and as such it can be rather difficult to find accommodation to suit all our needs. John the owner went out of his way to help us with any request, we couldn't have asked for more. We found that his B&B was comfortable and homely and he cooks a great english breakfast!

I stayed one night at the B&B. John was a lovely guy who was very accommodating and could have not done anything more. I would go back and would recommend it to friends. In Winchester and want a home away from home.
