We booked a number of rooms, all of which were superb, comfortable and very clean with every facility we could have wanted. Mine had a beautiful view over Hereford. The place has the feel of an old fashioned upmarket boarding house but with all the comforts of a modern hotel. The breakfasts are enormous and delicious with lots of local...

We wanted to visit Hereford for a couple of days on our way back from visiting relatives in the north. It is a place we have never been to before so we knew nothing about the area or its accommodation. We found Somerville House after an internet search for hotels in the area, the search criteria being within walking distance...

Cue this scene: an imposing Victorian villa set in a quiet tree-lined road, amicably run by our hosts Bill & Rosie, who provide the kind of accommodation and gentrified repose that is essential after traipsing around the region. We set with drinkies on the terrace, as well as, the lovely lounge overlooking the pretty garden. An upgrade was offered to...

We have just returned from a weekend in Hereford & spend 2 nights at Somerville House. We had a great time, and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Somerville. Our room (a superior double) was large & spacious & the bed was huge & comfy. The bathroom was clean & bright with a bath & powerful shower with plenty of hot...

I've stayed at Somerville House on a number of occasions in the past, and this stay was as good as usual. Great rooms, awesome breakfast and friendly welcome from Rosie, Bill and the team. The location is great for walking into the city but also quiet enough to get some sleep.

I booked Somerville House after reading the reviews and seeing the high star rating and as a result I was expecting a 5 star stay. For myself, I do not feel this is what I received. Now, do not get me wrong, the owners are particularly friendly, nor did I have any specific issues and there are some nice touches...

Dear Powely of the Wirral. Thank you very much for your review with the kind remarks you have made about our very friendly service and the efforts we have made to provide top quality in comfort in the bedrooms and catering for breakfast, for which we have been awarded 5 stars by the AA in their Guest Accommodation category. We enjoyed a weekend in August 2014 staying at Somerville House and singing in the cathedral. The hotel is a little outside of the centre, which adds to the walking time (though we found the taxis to be cheap and plentiful) but does mean we weren't troubled by any noise from outside. The hotel is nicely decorated, comfortable, and served...

This Victorian house is a lovely and welcoming place. The rooms are large, well appointed with the best minibar we've ever seen (full of local goodies -not just alcohol - at high street prices). Owners and their staff were really friendly and accommodating, and the food and comfort was of the highest level. Definitely recommend for all types of visitor.

Stayed for one night mid-week in Aug. This is a fabulous B&B. We received a very warm welcome from them on arrival. We had a twin room on the ground floor, that had everything you needed for a welcoming stay from the toiletries to the well stocked mini-bar. The breakfast was yummy with a wide selection of things available, they...

We stayed here for something of a family get together using 3 rooms for 3 nights. The rooms were all good sizes with large bathrooms and plenty of tea, coffee, biscuits etc and lovely toiletries. The mini bar was well stocked and the weather was lovely so we took advantage of the large terrace overlooking the beautiful garden. It was...
