Really enjoyed my stay, was upgraded to a beautiful room with an incredibly comfortable kingsize bed, the staff are wonderfully friendly too! Waterfall shower was fabulous, the decor is modern and cool. I didn't want to leave...!

Staff were really friendly and helpful and the hotel was right on the spot to see local sights such as the "Abbey", Verulamium, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, and the city centre . Our dog was well accepted. and was given her own sausage for breakfast. This is a quirky place, with a real history and stories of ghosts (not that...

The hotel is very quirky with creaking stairs, low ceilings and exposed wooden beams. Its located just a short 2 minute walk away for the town centre and its just across the road from the magnificent Cathedral. The only downside was that the room was very warm and so we had to have the window open at night, despite the...

We recieved a lovely warm welcome by the two ladies on reception. I'm one was named Rachel. We had the family room at the top which was quirky and totally in keeping with a 600 year old building. Everything was spotless and the modern bathroom, consisting of a bath and shower, had everything you needed such as soap, shower gel...

The dinner was excellent, in line with our previous experiences in the restaurant. And, despite some reservations, my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the tour which on this occasion was conducted by the owner herself. Whilst we saw no ghosts, the whole tour was very interesting especially the Shakespearean wall painting. Would recommend this double treat.

I had a wonderful stay from start to finish. The staff-from check-in, to the bar/restaurant and cleaning staff, were all absolutely lovely and accommodating--especially when I had specific needs. They all smiled and helped me with everything across my stay. My room was spacious and peaceful with a modern bathroom despite the quaint and historic property. The food is excellent...

Impromptu stop for a quick drink saw us return later that day for lunch. Staff are fantastic, polite, and not at your table every 5 minutes asking if everything's OK! ! food was great and loved the quirkiness and character . Would go again

OAPs my wife and I found ourselves on a visit to St Albans in Hertfordshire. Following the exhausting charter coach trip (traffic from Dover was very bad) and first visit to the Abbey, we repaired to the nearest “pub” we could find, right opposite the Abbey tourist attraction. We visited the White Hart Hotel. We had a job finding anyone...

If you don't like uneven floors, history and quirkiness, probably best to steer clear of this one. Otherwise, it is a great place. The room we stayed in was spacious and clean with a really comfortable four poster bed. The staff were friendly and efficient and the food in the restaurant was exceptional. Would definitely stay here again.

We chose the hotel at the last minute and were delighted with our stay. Good-sized clean room. We loved the four-poster - very comfortable. Super breakfast choice and the food was excellent. Polite, friendly, efficient staff. We were only there for one night but we would choose the White Hart again.
