A short 15 to 20 minute walk from Center of Canterbury in quiet area. Great check in. Spotless modern place and loads of breakfast goodies. Would stay again. Perhaps a little pricey but then it was a summer weekend. Cathedral visit is superb.

We booked three rooms for a music concert nearby. The guest house is a bungalow with 4 lockable bedrooms and a shared lounge, kitchen and garden (1 room has an ensuite bathroom. The owner welcomed us and was very friendly, very hospitable and even arranged a taxi for us. The bungalow is located about a 15-20 minute walk from the City Centre. The rooms are clean, tidy and our shower was superb. The breakfast is all found in cupboards and in the fridge and is based on a help yourself basis.

The owners of the b&b were wonderful, beyond hospitible. When you first arrive the smell of the house is amazing and it's constant through out the week. The bathrooms are wonderful, the bath is perfect for relaxing and resting your head. The kitchen is stunning, up to date and clean. They changed little things just for you, such as the heating. They also found out I love brown bananas so they made sure they had an extra pile of brown spotted bananas for me. I was there alone for a week with other guests in other rooms and having them pop in to check in on enverything was lovely. Overall I loved being there and it was hard to leave at the end of the week. They are wonderful people and if your looking for a more personalised caring stay this is the place to be.

We booked quite a last minute stay at the Swn Y Don in Canterbury for a wedding which was 15 minutes away from the venue. To start off, we found it very difficult to find the house as there was no advertisement outside or on the roads. We then drove to the end of the road and drove very slowly past each house to see if we could spot it, in the end we managed to find it with great difficulty. We were greeted by a lovely young lady, Abby who lead us into a living room which had a large number of towels thrown to one side of the room pilling up - this was quite off putting and messy. We were then shown the kitchen and explained that this was a self service kitchen. We booked this guest house with 'breakfast included' (as mentioned on Booking.com) thinking that we would be served breakfast instead of cooking our own - this was not mentioned anywhere. Next we were shown our rooms, we had 1 double room and a single room which were both good sizes, with very comfortable beds. We were not too keen on the curtains as they let in a lot of light very early in the morning. We were then shown to the bathroom, again it was not mentioned anywhere that it was a shared bathroom. The next morning on closer inspection the inside of the shower was very poor and looked like it had never been cleaned. The door handle for the shower was covered with dirt and the railings which held "some soaps" were rusted. (Images are attached) The shower itself was powerful and hot, however I wanted to get out as quickly as possible. Location wise the house was very close to the town centre which we found very handy. There is loads to see when visiting the area and it is very picturesque. Please be aware that there is a charge for entrance to Canterbury Cathedral as well as St Augustines Abbey. Overall we did not think this guest house was value for money, as the service and cleanliness was very poor. There were some good aspects, however there needs to be a clear mention of breakfast being "self service" and a shared bathroom as we feel this was miss-sold.
