We recently had a lovely stay at House of Agnes, it's a gorgeous historic building. The staff were welcoming and friendly, the food at breakfast was varied and yummy. It was a bit hairy driving through the 'tunnel' to the car park, but you just need to take it slowly and tuck in your wing mirrors. We'd highly recommend a stay here, its very good value for money. It's a 5 min walk into the historic city, with plenty of shops and restaurants/pubs close by.

Property's Favourite Review
When I was searching for somewhere to stay in Canterbury I came across this hotel/B&B and how glad I am that I decided to book for two nights. We stayed in the Boston room which is beautifully decorated, extremely clean, lovely shower, tea, coffee and biscuits, filtered water. Everything you could need. A real bonus is the free parking (just remember to breathe in when driving through the narrow entrance!) The hotel is in a perfect location for walking into Canterbury to visit the cathedral and to the restaurants for dinner. The breakfasts are excellent - you pre order the evening before and it is served at your table, hot and freshly cooked. No serving yourself from a buffet which constantly needs replenishing. Each morning a special breakfast is on offer - we had the Eggs Benedict which was superb. The honesty bar is a lovely touch and prices are very fair. Staff are friendly, helpful and very welcoming. I highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay again.

This is a little gem of a hotel. We were in the Boston room with the super king bed, it so comfy. The room very quiet which is a big plus for us. Breakfast couldn’t fault it, especially the omelet, soooo fluffy . Wouldn’t hesitate to go back again.

What a lovely hotel. Free private parking onsite through the old coaching inn entrance. To a surprisingly big lovely garden, patio and parking. The hotel is on a main road less than 5 minutes on the same rd to all the shops, Cathedral and Theatre. The hotel is immaculately clean, the décor is beautiful and complimentary to the historic property. It is welcoming, with very friendly helpful staff. They explain everything after checking in. The relaxing areas and honesty bar are lovely, nice to relax in after a day sightseeing. The bar is a fair price for drinks and you feel very comfortable using it whenever you like. We opted to stay in a Stable room which are private, I don't live on a road and am not used to hearing traffic when I sleep, It suited us even though the Trainline was behind. The trains go slow as the train crossing is just up the road. They don't run at night. The trains didn't wake us at all, the Seagulls woke my friend 😁 The Marlow theatre a very short walk away was great fun and night out. I would definitely stay again in this lovely Boutique hotel, the prices are reasonable.

A beautufully characterful hotel. Lots of effort was made to make it homely, relaxed and inclusive ; honesty bar with games laid out ( chess, draughts etc). Three lovely intimate lounge areas to relax and chat. Room ( Mumbai ) was very small but not untypical of a property of this age. A most comfortable bed . When booking be aware of the noise to the rooms at the front from drunks wending their way home after the clubs.... Breakfast was generous in range of ingredients offered, and punctually served. The waitrons were very obliging, friendly and efficient . The reception was very helpful with some particular requests which we had . The entrance to the parking area is not for the feint hearted as it is extremely narrow ( albeit one is given fair warning by the proprietor) . Having a proper pub "The Unicorn" nearby was an added bonus . It offers hearty meals. From the hotel it's a two minute walk into town. A great experience all round . Try the "Mezze bar and grill" for great food: 4 mins walk down the road into town .

From the time of making the booking to checking out the staff at this beautifully appointed city small hotel wet fab! We stayed in one of The Stable Rooms. The underfloor heating in the en-suite is an added bonus. Comfy bed and lots of space. Parking is within the grounds and the City itself is literally just a stroll away. Breakfasts are amazing and will last you all day. They have an “honesty” bar which we enjoyed each evening for a relaxed drink before heading out to eat in one of the myriad of places it Canterbury. A visit here is a must and I am in no doubt you will want to return This pic is my hubby pouring my pre debut bet drink and she’s how delightful the honesty bar is.

We had a lovely one night stay here in a stable room which was clean, comfortable and peaceful and more than adequate. Plenty of towels in a spotless bathroom with lovely undefrloor heating too. Super king size bed was really comfortable. Wifi available everywhere within the surroundings. Our breakfasts were absolutely gorgeous and there was plenty of it! The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and Riley showed us everything on our arrival and nothing was a problem. The hotel is in walking distance from the Cathedral, shops and restaurants so we couldn't ask for more. The honesty bar in the main hotel is a great idea and very well priced too.

Had a lovely weekend break here. We had a stable room which was clean, comfortable and peaceful. Although it was one of the coldest nights we’ve experienced for a very long time, the room was lovely and warm. The bathroom had plenty of hot water and lovely fluffy towels. Wifi was available everywhere. Breakfasts were great and plentiful. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Walking distance to train station, theatre, Cathedral, shops and restaurants. Our Cathedral tickets are valid for a year so will definitely come back soon.
