Great to see people getting back out enjoying England again and measures in place build confidence. The hotel feels very in control of the situation, no room servicing and breakfast trays in rooms. We had to wear a mask inside the public areas but this is all standard practice now. Beds were comfortable, rooms have only a fan and old sash windows so in 32 deg heat don't fare too well but nor would many Victorian buildings in a heatwave! Both the staff we encountered during our stay were lovely, very welcoming and hospitable. The garden area with sofas is an added bonus, get a nice chilled wine from the bar and sit outside for an hour in the evening watch the bats flying about. About a 10 min walk into the city centre & 5 min walk to Waitrose if you need supplies so well situated. One slight downside is the road outside gets busy quite early but wouldn't stop me staying again.

We stayed here for 3 nights, the hotel is ideally situated for Canterbury, being approx 15 minute flat walk into the town centre. The staff throughout our stay were brilliant, very friendly and professional. The hotel itself is a little tired. The room we stayed in was a little tired and could do with an update but it was absolutely spotless and very comfortable. Parking was a real plus and the grounds were fabulous although we didn't get to spend much time in them due to the British weather. My only criticism's were the shower in our room. It was impossible to get a temperature that was acceptable, it was either scalding hot or Luke warm, the cooked breakfast was good although we didn't get quite what we ordered and on the last day we ordered a Continental breakfast and basically nothing was available apart from toast and cereal, would I stay here again, absoloutely, great value for money.

A charming old Victorian hotel ten minutes’ walk from the centre of Canterbury. The spacious rooms facing the garden are the best - very quiet. For our latest visit we had Room No 1, which features a magnificent, enormous four-poster bed. There’s a very civilised original dining room where the fabulous breakfast included in the room price is served. Free parking and good wifi. Recommended.

Spent 4 nights here, ideal location for Canterbury centre, 15 mins walk, had a car park which was a bonus.
The hotel itself is an old building, very clean but a little tired in places. Our room was comfortable, linen, towels exceptional. Tea tray was restocked every day, cheap biscuits let it down and also not a fan of a bottle of water being refilled and dated. This should be sealed individual bottles of water.
The bathroom seriously needs updating, cracked sink, mould round the tiles, water only came out of a few holes in the shower, not powerful
The breakfast is on a pre order basis, cannot fault it!! Plentiful and sets you up for the day, nice continental selection too.
The staff were very professional, welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
All in all we had a good weekend, would stay again if the bathrooms got refurbished

We stayed 2 nights in an attic twin room at £78 per night inc continental breakfast in room. The room was 3 flights up thus a challenge with bags although we were offered assistance. It was comfortable and clean. The shower and bath lacked water pressure thus 25 minutes to run a bath No shampoos provided sadly.

Car park useful and nice grounds. Location good for centre of Canterbury some 15 mind slow walk.

If I came again I would probably book an apartment in the grounds.

Staff h3lpful and friendly.

The cottage was not very clean, the sheets were stained, spiders present, food residue on the "clean" utensils, internet access was inconsistent (the wireless network dropped every few minutes in our cottage), and due to staffing shortages we were not allowed to eat the breakfast served in the hotel (even though we paid as much or more for the cottage than the hotel guests did for their hotels). In general, it was very basic and average. We have stayed in worse and always attempt to stay in better.

We stayed here for two nights in the hotel. Breakfast was lovely - full English cooked to order. The room we were in was a bit small but clean and decent sized bed - disappointing that there was no proper shower, just hand held shower in bath. Tea making facilities in the room and hairdryer. We were in Room 9 at front of hotel which looked out to a very busy main road, constant noisy traffic. Most of the staff friendly except for waiter at breakfast on second day who clearly didn't want to be there. The gardens of the hotel are lovely and had the weather been kinder and not raining would have been an ideal place to enjoy a drink. About 15 minute walk to centre of Canterbury so very convenient and ample private car parking in the hotel grounds. Although some aspects of hotel were not great, price paid for hotel was reasonable and it was a convenient location for our short stay in Canterbury.

I stayed with a friend for 2 nights whilst watching Kent cricket, which is only a 10 minute walk away. We stayed in a 2 bed bungalow with facilities, which was competitively priced and a major plus for Canterbury, it had plenty of parking. It was only a 15 minute walk to town so we could enjoy the pubs and restaurants after the game. The accommodation was clean and comfortable, and the bar was open for a nightcap! Friendly staff too, an ideal hotel.

Visiting daughter at university and were after somewhere convenient and reasonably priced. We stayed in the main Ebury hotel for 2 nights and were very pleasantly surprised. Our room was quiet and comfortable, and the reception staff were friendly and helpful.

The Ebury is a short walk from Canterbury City Centre with plenty of onsite parking and an attractive garden.

Breakfast was included in the price, with a continental buffet or a cooked breakfast available, which is ordered the night before. We opted for cooked, which was excellent and set us up for the day.

The Ebury is an older building and quite quirky, but we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wouldn't hesitate to return
