Whereas this restaurant is not exceptional it does do everything well. Friendly and efficient service, good, fresh food, decent beers, comfortable seating and great prices. It is right opposite the Marlowe Theatre so very convenient for pre theatre supper but do make a reservation. A thoroughly enjoyable and good value meal.

Room small but very clean and housekeeping staff couldn't be more friendly. Wifi reception was excellent as was the location of the hotel. The breakfast though was rather patchy. On several days the breakfast tasted like it had been prepared in advance and was like warm (French toast). There were strange rules about ordering fruit juice and cappuccino. It was...

Just the most perfect place to stay after an evening in the Marlowe Theatre. Could not be more convenient. Staff were great. Room was compact as you would expect of a building this age. But was clean and well presented. Breakfast was great and the evening meal.was good value. Will stay again next time we are in town

My room was a single and I was prepared, after reading reviews, for it to be small but I wasn't prepared for it to have everything needed. The toiletries smelt lovely.. the toothbrush and paste was a nice touch. As was the facecloth!! The breakfast was delicious, served by 2 lovely ladies who were very helpful. A stone's throw from...

My sister and I booked online for the weekend of 1-3 April 2017 as it was within walking distance of Canterbury West train station, but within the city walls. This hotel is a converted 16th century place, so it goes without saying there is a lot of character, with the creeky steep stairs, wooden beamed sometimes low ceilings and smallish...

Very helpful, young staff. Small room and bath/shower, but everything there in full working order. Nice meal in restaurant on my only night. Good breakfast the following morning. Good location and very close to the Marlowe theatre.

Room wasn't huge bit exactly what we wanted for the night. The location is excellent with culture at you door step, aswell as plenty of pubs and bars. Will be visiting again, and I highly recommend to all.

The room was pretty small, but we were not surprised as it was advertised as small on the website. Despite the size of the room, it had everything we needed, from the hairdryer to the kettle (+ free coffe, hot chocolate and tea), the wifi and the English breakfast were included. Perfect location at a good price.

My wife and I stayed here for one night as we were going to the Marlowe Theatre, which is opposite the hotel. We stayed in Stour room - smallish but clean. Unfortunately double bed is standard size and rather hard! Excellent pre-theatre meal in the adjoining restaurant and good breakfast the next day - with waiter service. Wi-fi is free...

We spent 4 days at this very convenient hotel. It is just behind the high street and opposite the Marlowe Theatre. We dropped our cases off and were given 24 hour vouchers at £6 each from reception to display on the dashboard, together with a map to find the car park. Although it is a few minutes drive away, it...
