Ordered the buttermilk fried chicken which looked like someone's left over dinner. Very stale and dry. Not worth the hard earned £10. On a brighter note, the tap water and the weather was lovely on and the waitress.

My husband & I had lunch here on Saturday. It was fantastic. Really loved the place; it is very stylishly decked out, has a great ambience and sits nicely on the harbour, which makes you feel like you're going somewhere, looking at all those boats! The food was really good. I'd say simple cuisine, except it's more than that. Really...

We hadn't visited Ship & Trades since before the refurbishment and we weren't disappointed. We feel very lucky to have this hotel close to our home. Our meal was lovely, the service very good what a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Situated right by the marina the view just added to our enjoyment.

We were attending a wedding evening party, being held at The Holiday Inn, Chatham. We decided not to Tay there but went for this hotel. The check in was quick and friendly. The decoration is of a modern green variety which flows from the corridor into the bedroom. Inside the room the room was on a small plinth so you...

We are a family of 4 (Mum, Dad, 4 year old and 2 year old) and we stayed one Saturday night here. We paid for the most expensive room (because we needed the floor space for kids) with the balcony and it was lovely. The balcony area was safe with a wonderful view of the boats in the estuary. The...

Having been very disappointed on a previous (pre renovation) visit, we decided to try the Ship and Trades again, as we were going to the cinema and it's convenient for that. We were pleasantly surprised - the food was very much better this time (is there a new chef?), and the service was also pretty good. It's not too expensive...

Had a lovely cooked breakfast, poached eggs on point , lovely fresh produce. Had a lovely waitress, who was polite and attentive , think her name was Emily ?? The couple on an adjacent table where very rude and dismissive of her. She was very professional and smiled through the service, I made a point of saying thank you and...

I can't fault this place because as a bar it is absolutely brilliant. The service is always friendly and very welcoming. The only problem is the food isn't any better than a standard Wetherspoons and is twice the price. Go here for an evening for a few drinks but wouldn't bother eating here.
