My wife and I went, using a 'special deal' for evening meal, overnight and Breakfast. It was fabulous. The evening meal was excellent, really tasty with a good choice. My pork loin was excellent. The room was spacious, with everything we needed and an amazing bed, so comfortable. Great breakfast too. We will be back! Recommended to anyone wanting to...

We stayed here on our wedding night after getting married nearby. We booked it for £50 deal and we're lucky enough to be upgraded to their bridal room which was fantastic! Huge bathroom with sofa and walk in shower and roll top bath and a bottle of bubbly waiting. Breakfast the next morning was very nice. Great stay.

The restaurant found a table for my wife and I at short notice on Saturday evening. The service was prompt and friendly and the quality of the food was excellent. Cocktails in the bar after made a very good evening.

its wasn't up to scratch for a fine dining restaurant! the food was average... though i could have paid 20% of the price for the same thing at the pub. The free champagne is not free ! ! ! The staff were unorganised and different people kept asking us the same questions

Found it quite offensive as one of the managers approached me with hands in pockets. Not an acceptable way to greet a guest. The linen was in a poor state especially the duvets. And the shower in the room was atrocious. There was hair and body fat on the walls .

Poor reviews on here have put us off returning to Hotel du Vin which had been a staple in our repertoire of places to go for Sunday lunch. After an absence of 2-3 years we decided to give it a try and why did we leave it so long? It was just as good as we remembered, if not better....

Stayed here for 1 night on a Sunday stop- over. Had a standard room which are quite cramped but do have all facilities including A bath, shower, tv and Nespresso machine. So far so good, a table booked in the restaurant , had the fillet steak and trout. The fillet steak was well cooked but had so much salt on...

We used to visit regularly but then it went down hill and it can be a bit hit and miss. Had a meal recently and the food was very good actually - just the staff that let it down - really not as well trained as they could be - some even verging on clueless. One of our party even...

Ok we used to be HdV regular as long as 8 years ago but slowly surely it has gone downhill. But tonight it was much better. After a three year break. Restaurant itself still has the stylish no frills feel but it has been modernised. Has a nice unassuming buzz Food is still the old French classic bistro style simple...

We were really looking forward to going back to eat here as our last meal had been good. Still loved the bar area , cosy seating , nice fire and staff cheerful. The restaurant was full and there was a nice buzz. I ordered King Prawns in chilli butter - disappointed as no flavour and certainly no chilli . Had...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Hotel du Vin Tunbridge Wells is set in one of the town's architectural landmarks, a Grade II-listed sandstone mansion built as a private residence in 1762. We have retained its authentic detail carefully, adding our unique touch to the 34 bedrooms with antiques and memorabilia. Guests can enjoy a game of boules, dining on the garden terrace with its wonderful views across Calverley Park, or a wander through the hotel's very own vineyard. BEDROOMS: Housed within this impressive building are 34 timelessly styled bedrooms and stunning suites, all featuring luxurious handsprung mattresses, fine Egyptian linen, deep baths and powerful drench showers, plasma TVs, DVDs and air conditioning. BISTRO: Open all week, and under the tutelage of head chef Daniel McGarey, Bistro du Vin is at the heart of our hotel, a classic, French styled, elegant and informal setting for lunch, dinner, to meet, celebrate or simply pass the time. Dine on the finest produce the Kent has to offer from local heroes such as herbs and seasonal vegetables from local nursery chef's herbs, meat from Woodlands Farm and fish from Chapman's of Sevenoaks. These are only a handful of the suppliers included within our homegrown & local philosophy. ... more   less
