I had dinner with my husband at this cosy welcoming inn. The staff were great, attentive and helpful. The food was tasty, freshly cooked and presented well.Cant wait to visit Smarten and the The Chequers Inn again.

We love this pub have been going there for years it's well worth a visit. They always have a selection of real Ale which we enjoy The pub is very friendly and we normally sit in the garden as we have 3 dogs but they always ask us if we want to come in. We have had a few meals... More

A short stay at this lovely pub and B & B with Glen and Gwyn who looked after my Niece, Toni, and I in order to join friends and other Family members to remember Nivck Ward. The rooms were spotlessly clean and the breakfast really was a feast, beautifully cooked, local produce and even some yummy, if naughty black pudding.... More

Beautiful old English Pub in quintessential Kent village. Work being carried out on improving the rooms upstairs in pub. Room was good with great antique 4 poster bed. Bathroom was new and modern. No desk in room, not ideal for business stay if you need to do any work. Restaurant was excellent and food delicious. I had a fish platter,... More

We stayed at The Chequers for two nights recently and overall we found the accommodation adequate. Our room was one of two in an outbuilding (but adjoining the pub) which was much newer than the pub itself. The room was quite small and a large part of it was taken up with the bed which was comfortable. The en suite... More

If you are looking for a warm welcome, clean and comfortable accommodation, good food and attentive hosts then look no further. We have just spent a lovely 3 night stay at The Chequers Inn where we were very well looked after and were made to feel most welcome. The owners have sympathetically tried to maintain the historic feel to this... More

Typical old English pub atmosphere frequented by locals and visitors alike. Idyllic village setting. Lovely Saturday night meal, seafood platter was good value as was the classic steak pie. Make sure to book for a weekend meal. Apparently haunted (by Colonel Mustard according to my Dad)...not verified unfortunately.

Just back from a three night stay and cannot recommend The Chequers highly enough. Everybody involved at the Chequers can be described as friendly, welcoming and utterly professional. We took two rooms whilst visiting family in the area and were delighted from the moment we arrived. Our room (room #2) even has a luxurious copper bath in the en suite... More
