This is the second time I have stayed at the Mercure Royal Hotel. Its great benefit is that it is central to the city, and right on the railway station. The Royal Hotel has a long history, yet it is a pleasant, warm and welcoming hotel. The entrance hall is also a lounge area and bar, and it has the...

Good hotel, great convenient location, room very clean and well laid out. Check in and out was quick and efficient. For breakfast there was a great selection all well explained by the attentive staff.

Warm welcome on arrival. Pleasant room, quite small but at least I got a double bed. As a single traveller I have often been in very small rooms in other hotels. Room clean and warm ( I was there on a very cold weekend). Tea and coffee in room. No iron or ironing board but probably available on request. The...

Decided to try a stay in a hotel that wasn't a Premier Inn/Ramada box, for a change. This was a mistake. First room we had literally had a window on to the station platform - quirky, but we could hear every train announcement and the room vibrated as the train engines started. Asked for a change and were given a...

Stayed here for 2 nights at the beginning of february. Had a standard room which was adequate. The hotel itself has very grand public rooms as it is an old listed building. Cost of rooms are reasonable. The location is brilliant, the hotel forms a side of the station and there is a back entrance into the station. Easy walk...

Randomly went out mid week with the other half and had the most pleasant evening, not booked a table but had a lovely welcome, relaxed drink and 5 star meal (go for the Lamb).....admittedly, I like food and the quality of food here was most definitely a very pleasant surprise.

Good city location with hotel access to train station. The staff are friendly and helpful and the main reception/lobby area is warm and inviting. Our room was a twin on the second floor. Clean but as I said in my title, nothing special really. Rather drab decor and quite meagre bedding and pillows. Just one single duvet on each bed...

We stayed at the Royal in Hull for one night on Saturday, parking was a plus right outside the door. We had booked a double room, which we were very pleased about, unfortunately it was next to the lift which we found quite noisey. I mentioned to the reception staff (who could not be more helpful) if they had a...

Two night break to Hull was embellished by the Hotel which was clean and friendly. It was a good central location for Hull centre and its Museums and Art Gallery. Food was of a high standard and served with a smile
