A fine old inn with comfortable but small rooms. Dining was mainly in the bar, fairly basic pub food, fairly priced but you would need to be a football fan to enjoy the constant tv coverage. Breakfast was top notch, staff were lovely and our room was nice and clean.

Great pub with a great atmosphere. Reasonably priced drinks. Good service. Brilliant band. Would recommend a visit if you are staying in the area. We didn't have anything to eat so can't comment on the food.

We spent two nights here, the curtain was hanging off and I had to ask twice for it to be repaired. The bath in the bathroom was coming away from the wall and when you stood in the bath for a shower it moved. The bed was above the bar and we heard everything that was happening. The young lad...

We stayed here on the bank holiday; me, my partner and our son who is 3 months of age. It's a pub hotel so the standards at this hotel are just as expected, if not a bit better. Room: the room we had was on the very top floor and unfortunately there was no lift. Understandable as these are costly...

Stayed a couple of nights here. We were met by a very pleasant young man on arrival. We were in a room on the 2nd floor (fair few stairs) The Room overlooked the road. Standard furnishings, clean, towels and a decent shower. Breakfast was a choice of cereal and cooked. It wasn't the best breakfast we have had but wasn't...

I came to Ambleside for a team building exercise with colleagues as I had previously had fantastic experiences here. This was the first time I tried The Churchill Inn and I have to say it will be the last. My friend ordered a vodka and cranberry. It was quite dark in the bar area and it was only as she...

Stayed for one night on our way to Scotland. Location very good minutes away from lake Windermere. Plenty of shops around this small town although we arrived too late to be able to eat anywhere including the pub but eventually found a Chinese restaurant 5 mins away which was serving food. The rooms were quite large with good layout and...

Popped in to watch the football whilst on holiday with my son. After reading some of the reviews I didn't expect much however I was very pleasantly supprised. Staff were great food was spot on and we ended up spending most of our evenings there.

Our little family ate here recently and I can only say how pleasantly surprised we were. From the outside it seemed like your average 'football' pub and whilst there was football on and some of the punters were a little less than savoury we found a quiet table near to the b'n'b entrance. I had the vegan curry, my husband...
