Stayed here on the 1st of march for three nights must say it was one of the best I've stayed in. From checking in to checking out it was brilliant. The room No 9 had a wonderful view from the window of mountains ( snow topped). It also had a wet room on suite four poster bed, plenty of storage space....

We have been going to Rothay Garth on and off since 2008. There is a consistently friendly welcome from the family, tasty breakfast, wonderfully comfortable beds and crisp clean sheets. This time we had a dog friendly room which was ideal with our own entrance and a space out the back as well. The special deals are good value and...

went for 3 night break to celebrate hubster's birthday. we used to come to this place years ago but probably not been back for over 16 years until last weekend. obviously been updated and re-decorated and it has changed hands twice in that time, but it remains true to what a really good B&B should be. Breakfasts are excellent -...

Spent three nights at Rothay Garth and I cannot recommend it enough. Got a lovely welcome from Laura, room was perfect, breakfast was amazing and the owners were so helpful. Real bonus having a car park too in the centre of Ambleside. Thank you so much, we hope to go back some day!

My daughter & I spent 3 nights at Rothay Garth early November. It was cold, grey & wet outside, but the wonderful welcome we received more than made up for the dreary weather. We were met by very warm & friendly staff who made us feel really at home immediately. Our room was small, but perfectly adequate, clean & comfortable....

The welcome we received was exceptional and the hotel is in a lovely location. Accommodation is good and was very warm and cosy. My only issue was the breakfast which despite advance notice didn't really cater for vegans. We were given child-like portions for the cooked meal compared to meat eaters. Maybe veggie sausage/tofu would be useful additions to make...

My husband and I booked for one night and were greeted by Anna and what a lovely welcome we got. Lovely guest house with parking, friendly hosts and super breakfast to keep you going up the fells. Our room was spotlessly clean and although small very comfortable. There is a large lounge if you want to escape and have some quite time with a good book. The staff are very helpful and extremely courteous. would recommend no problem.
