Would recommend this hotel. Lovely friendly staff, spotlessly clean and breakfast was excellent, freshly cooked when we ordered it. Evening meal in sister hotel across the road equally as delicious. Would not hesitate to return here.

Ambleside is a great base to be in to explore the Lake District, we are central to the town so not far for local amenities, we have parking as well. You can drive to neighbouring towns which aren't too far away such as Coniston, Grasmere and Hawkshead or you can use the public transport such as bus or boat. The larger towns would be Keswick and Bowness on Windermere. There are also lots of pubs in Ambleside centre.
I hope this helps
