I'd hate to give this hotel a good review as that would encourage others to stay there... and my wife and i want it all to ourselves :-) We fell in love with this place within minutes, from walking into the lobby to be greeted with the lovely large wide staircase leading up to the spacious rooms to the history,...

Myself & my partner stayed for just one night in between Christmas & the New Year. The staff were very friendly but not perfect. Our room was spotless & very comfortable but the shower was run off the taps & the temperature was hard to control. The bar staff were very nice & helpful but struggled with one or two...

Arrived at 4pm booked out at 10pm, spent one hour in the room (that was enough) when we arrived the poor lad on reception had no idea about parking arrangements, e finally established that the four spaces the hotel has were full so we would have to go and park in one of the public car park which cost us...

Friendly staff though and our complaint about the aforementioned Brie was quickly...

Sadly this restaurant is now in a death spiral. There's hardly any customers so the kitchen staff churn out quick dishes that are utterly disappointing. Pre cooked / frozen meals in a lacklustre dining room that probably results in zero return visits. The only positive is the (British) guys behind the bar who are friendly & efficient. The real ale...

Can not really find any fault with this hotel, perfectly situated in the town for all the shops and restaurants, staff are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast covered all tastes and the bar had a good selection of local beers.
