Stayed here for two nights with my wife whilst doing some hiking, plenty of shops, pubs and restaurants near by. Room was clean and comfortable. Would recommend and definitely return again myself. Only downside is there isn't much free parking available and the road is fairly busy and noisy in peak times.

Richard was great as a host very informative and welcoming. The room and ensuite were immaculate!! Very very clean and well finished room. The breakfast is amazing just lovely!!! I like the fact you have a designated table in the morning as everyone has the right amount of seats for each room! Only four parking spaces but we never had...

Stayed in the rock and roll room. Fantastic idea, so different to anything I have seen before. The owner was always there and so friendly and helpful. He even took special care of my partner by allowing him to come and grab coffee and a bite to eat before departure to work (earlier than designated breakfast times). Totally thrilled with...

A beautiful warm welcoming guest house. Immaculately clean and very spacious room. The price is very reasonable and none of the furnishings are cheap and tatty. The rooms are decorated to a high standard. The hosts were both friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. The short 10 minute walk into the town is more than manageable. The guest...

This was yet another delightful stay at the Wanslea and Richard (the host) cannot do enough for you. Nothing is too much trouble. Breakfast options are plentiful with the option to further upgrade the cooked breakfast to the walkers edition with fried bread and black pudding. A great touch. We stayed in the Africa room which had recently been refit...

Just spent a lovely couple of days here. On arrival we were welcomed by Richard. We checked in and went straight to our room, which we were very impressed with. The stay was a Christmas present from our daughters, so what a lovely suprise a four poster bed was as a bonus!! The room was very clean, spacious and a...

Lovely owner, who was very welcoming and looked after us well. The facilities were perfect for our needs as walkers. Comfy bed. Good shower. Big breakfast. Nice and quiet. I felt the value for money was excellent and for the price we paid we could not have reasonably expected more.

We had a wonderful weekend break in January for my birthday. The room was spotless. And warm and cosy. Hosts were very welcoming. Definitely be back. Only down side was the dining room was quite cold and beans would have been good with the breakfast . But that's classed as a first world problem and nothing to lose sleep over!

This hotel is one of the best I have stayed in. We were in the African room which was very spacious, warm, clean, and the bathroom had a Jacuzzi bath so after a days walking you could have a massage bath to ease those aches and pains. The breakfast in the morning was for you to choose from a full English...
