Had a weekend stay at Lakes Lodge.
Very clean and comfortable room.
Friendly helpful staff and a good breakfast.
Lodge only a short walk to the centre of Ambleside ,plenty of pubs and restaurants .
We would stay at this accommodation again.
Friends had booked a place and this was a last minute booking, so I only needed a single room and this place didn't disappoint. Usually a single room in a B&B is a tiny room with a tiny bed with a tiny bathroom (if one...More
A last minute decision to spend two nights in Ambleside with the family dog! We couldn't have been made more welcome: arriving late in the evening wasn't a problem and the large en suite room was perfect. Nell had a bowl of treats and water...More
Went for our anniversary. Beautifully lodge with hot tub in a lovely village. Friendly staff. Luxury location for a special break good value for money. Lodges furnished to high standard bath robes and slippers provided. Will go again
We stayed here for one night for a wedding in the area. Bedroom and bathroom was absolutely beautiful. A proper sturdy bed made for extremely comfortable sleep and breakfast was amazing too thank you 😊

It is a lovely area to stay. Short walk along from Lakes Lodge to Ambleside shops, plenty of places to eat out. Several pubs and inns nearby. We stayed a few days and went on the boat cruise on Windermere, there are several trips to choose from, short or longer ones- we enjoyed this and stopped off at Bowness on Windermere for a coffee. The pier is also a fairly short walk from Lakes Lodge,,they also have discount tickets for the boat.
There are lots of places to visit nearby, depending on what interests they have. Staff are only too ready to help and there are leaflets to read.
We also went for the day to Kendall which was lovely some quaint shops with a choice of places to eat.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed it.
