We had received a two night stay in this b&b as a Christmas present from a relative having walked past the house and thought we would like to stay, given the wonderful location and picturesque appearance of the outside of the property. Unfortunately the experience was not at all what we had expected. On arrival the hostess was offhand with... More

One of the best things about Fell Foot Farm is it isn't expensive as some and was the only place available at short notice in the school holidays. It is worth staying at for the location, but don't expect anyone to smile or be polite. The hostess was quite nice sometimes, but quite scary at other times and you are... More

Lake District Lodge Holidays - what a beautiful Lodge, on the Limefitt Holiday Park. The Lodge was amazing, a real home from home, thank you Judy, beautiful, relaxing, everything you could ever need and dog-friendly too, in fact the whole place is stunning. We had the use of a hot tub too, very restful. Normally holidays go so fast, but... More

Pros - Location unsurpassed - the potential for wonderful treks straight from the door is immense. - The shower in the ensuite was decent enough and provided plentiful hot water. - Bedlinen good. Cons Owner rushed off her feet and too bound up in the organisation of her own family life to offer genuine customer service. The reviewer that termed... More

recently returned from a few days at Fell Foot farm. Really enjoyed the location, so quiet and amazing views. The en-suit room was clean and cosy. The. Breakfast is really tasty and set us up well for a good days walking. Thanks Kerrie for a lovely refreshing break.

Stayed in the self-catering cottage in February for a lovely holiday, idyllic location, beautiful with the snow! The pass was shut, so the road was very quiet. However, the upstairs was very cold, especially the bathroom, even with the electric heaters on full. Bedroom was tiny, and would not have been suitable with a baby. Downstairs got nice and hot... Stayed one night to explore the local area. We took the two rooms in the house, one of which is ensuite. Breathtaking beauty surrounds the farm, nestled just outside the village. Dated but comfortable rooms - it's a working farm after all. Morning saw us treated to a hearty full English breakfast, and a simple packed lunch provided by the... More

This cottage is situated in a brilliant location, in the middle of nowhere, walks from the door, pub within walking distance. The attitude of the owners to us completely spoilt this holiday....having read the blurb about the cottage and seeing it had electric heating (even though it mentioned a log burning stove in the sitting room) we thought this would... As others have pointed out, the self-catering cottage is attached to a working sheep and dairy farm approximately 6 miles from Ambleside. Yes, it's a little remote, but that was the attraction for us... amazing scenery and beautiful walks literally from the front door. I personally had no problem in finding it via SatNav, the nearest shop and pub are... More
