We attended a wedding and stayed at this hotel. Hotel is so lovely , views in the morning were lovely from breakfast room, beds are really Comfortable and the breakfast was really nice , rooms are spotless 100% recommend brilliant hotel and really friendly staff Thank you for a lovely stay
I was in room 2. It is rough around the edges and needs a decorate however the bed was comfy and clean. The shower was hot and pressure was amazing. Staff were lovely and helpful even with a wedding going on.
Stayed in room eight, it was very clean nicely decorated and warm ,the bed was a little high to get into but the bedding was spotless, the bathroom was large and had a bath with shower over but needs a light over sink. The hotel was very clean all looked to be newly decorated , nice lounges great dinning room. The staff were all very friendly and the guy in charge was very hard working but still had time to talk etc, The food was very good well presented and plentiful, for the price we paid we were well pleased and will certainly stay here again.
Impressive gardens and lovely old building. No Blue Badge parking spaces, had to park then walk down a steep slope to reach hotel. Smell of damp prevalent from the moment we opened the front door. Check in quick and efficient. We were in room 3 , a nice quiet room at the very top of the hotel. The radiator hadnt been turned on and the room was so cold. Tiniest bathroom i have ever seen, minute shower cubicle, no heating, no window, no ventilation and the tiled floor was very cold. Bed not too bad, we had to ask for an extra blanket to supplement the summer weight duvet on a cold wet October night. The room and bathroom looked recently refurbished, and.both were very clean. Breakfast- no fruit but juice and cereals, and just the option of a cooked Cumbria fry up, was well cooked and a good size. The staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. For the price we paid= £70 for 2 people for the night with breakfast i have no complaints but unlikely to stay there again.…
My husband and I decided to have a last minute break, looked through the internet and came across this gem. Last minute booking direct with the hotel. Lovely hotel, room was beautiful and view magnificent from the bright the 5 gigantic windows. Warm comfortable and really clean , the staff very helpful and attentive. Breakfast was amazing, but be aware when the waiter says the plate is hot it really is. The only problem was the stairs for my husband but he did manage o k. Would recommend a stay ,well worth it , Thanks to the staff / owners. Privately owned not one of the big conglomerates most of these places are now, thank god . Must keep small family run hotels going, will be back
