I stayed here for several weeks while working in the area and enjoyed it, the staff very friendly nothing was a problem, rooms were very good, food was great, the setting is superb and quite so no problems sleeping. If you are in the area I would recommend you stay here.

I stayed two nights and found the whole experience first class. The friendly, helpful staff were busy and multitasking but didn't lose their smiles or sense of humour. A lovely building with high ceilings is well kept and clean. Huge log fire and large leather sofas made the lounge very comfortable - just the place to snuggle down and read...

The hotel is nicely located and the first impression is of a very nice and well-kept building. Unfortunately, the positive impact is frustrated by the grumpy "welcoming" personnel, which continued to be so for the whole duration of our stay, showing a bit of a relief just when we paid and went away. The room on the back of the...

Just arrived back after visiting this hotel for a second time. We really enjoyed our stay here. the service from the staff is exceptional. The hotel is a real gem. The manager Dan is very customer focussed. The breakfast and evening meal was very, very good. The bar is pleasant with a roaring fire in the evenings. The prices are...

The staff were really very accommodating at this lovely hotel. They didn't even charge us for our extras. Beautiful surroundings too. Charming hotel I highly recommend it. Excellent value for money. Worth a visit.

Thank you for your comments however may we correct your impression. On Sunday we had provided 100 meals - Far from "only ones there". You had arrived between services - Yes you were the only ones here at that time. and no-one told you that you were the only residents because you were not! Your comments on leaving were -...

Had a great 2 night stay for business in the area. Rooms were comfortable. Hotel is set in lovely countryside. Great welcome and hosting by Dan. Great breakfast! Would love to stay again. I would recommend this place for business visitors and tourists as a good central stay.

We had to work in the area for one week and booked this through work. It has so much potential but let's itself down. Dan who is part of the family owned hotel tries very hard but just missing that friendly side. The staff were ok but with a little training on customer care could be so much better. The...

Stayed for one night - wished it had been 2!! Staff were friendly and very attentive. We didn't eat in the restaurant as we had pre-booked in the town, however the breakfast was great. The rooms were very clean and well appointed. We will definitely come back and stay longer now that we know the hotel is dog friendly.
