This was the TVR Car Clubs Annual weekend, on this occasion we had booked the whole Hotel. The whole weekend was fantastic great food, great friendly professional staff who went out of their way to help. Fantastic location and a great place to stay.

We enjoyed 2 nights in foul weather - because the hotel made up for it massively. Rooms well presented, grounds are beautiful We looked around the village but could not better the food for quality and value - some of the food was so surprisingly good that Heston Blumenthal would be proud - seriously - YOU HAVE TO EAT HERE...

Stayed in the hotel for few night. Lovely atmosphere with even better breakfast they must be proud of their breakfast chef. 2 mins walk to the lake with beautiful view. Oh nearly forgot about diner. Good selection to cater for everyone taste. My steak was cooked to perfection credit to the chef again. Definitely will come back.

My husband and I stayed overnight at this hotel in May. Hotel is set in beautiful surroundings and our room (14) had lovely viewsof the lake and gardens and fields with sheep and lambs. The room was spacious as was the bathroom and a complimentary tray of tea etc and bathroom items were provided. The room was very hot but...

Great location but the hotel itself is nothing special. Unfortunately one of those hotels that doesn't have to try very hard due to location. Breakfast "value" type fatty and rather tasteless sausage and bacon - poor. Ran out of Muesli one day! Don't like the fact they allow pets in rooms. Evidence of poor maintenance. Absence of management.

We decided to treat ourselves to a meal at this beautiful hotel. The setting and decor were lovely. I mentioned on arrival that I have coeliac disease and need gluten free food. The waitress consulted the chef and then quickly went through every menu item saying 'can' or 'can't'. Her English was not easy to understand so it was hard...

Lovely hotel with excellent views over Coniston. Only a short walk into Village Food excellent, we dined in both nights we stayed. Would suggest if mobility a problem to ask for a room on the first floor as there is a lift to it.

Stayed here for a weekend, I'm not sure the staff (although friendly) could cope with a full hotel? The meals especially breakfasts too a little too long to get out, I nearly offered to roll up my sleeves and help. The bar was limited in choice, the bedrooms nice and roomy, hot if you wanted them hot but radiators do...

Stayed one night for a little break. The hotel is in an idyllic tranquil setting right on the edge of the lake. On a warm sunny day it would be so beautiful. Even though it was mainly dull the setting is stunning. We only had a standard room as we had secured an offer but it was fine - clean,...

Beautiful location and good food, but attention to detail lacking. Some staff really didn't appear to have any idea about customer service, room was the very disappointing (avoid room 11 at all costs), very noisy about kitchen with very high small window, dark, no view, bathroom not particularly clean. To be honest, felt it was a real shame... such a...
