Found this little gem a few weeks ago. Absolutely fantastic food, the service is excellent. A lovely lovely place . So nice we do a 180 mile round trip most Sundays for the best roasts ever! Chocolate pudding to die for. Cannot fault anything here. They make you feel so welcome too.

We visited The Crown for dinner this evening and had a fabulous time. Food was delicious and everyone was incredibly friendly. The landlady even held my 4 month old daughter so I didn't have to eat one handed. Would definitely recommend and will visit again!

We had a 3 day break in the lakes and we stopped for food and drink at several pubs but unfortunately we found the Crown Inn on the last day. We would have eaten here every day had we have found it earlier, the food is exceptional and the bar staff friendly and polite. Fantastic pub to visit and the...

Popped in for a late lunch at about 2.30 on a dull midweek afternoon. There were a few other diners and drinkers there and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. Nice décor, comfy chairs and friendly bar staff. Pretty standard pub menu and seemed a bit pricey. We had a fish and chips and a steak and ale pie. Excellent...

The room we were given on the 1st floor had a great view.It was spacious with a king sized bed and was very clean. The ensuite was modern with a large bath which fills quickly with plenty of hot water. Just what you need after a long walk in the Autumn weather! The staff were friendly especially the pub staff...

There were 16 in our group so you would think we would get well looked after, no not really. We booked an evening meal which was fairly ordinary for the money. Considering we had spent a lot of money on the accommodation for two nights and a fair bit on drinks with dinner it was surprising to be asked to...

We've just returned from a 4 night stay at the Crown Inn and enjoyed it very much. All the staff were most attentive and friendly, the accommodation was comfortable and the food delicious. Although the decor of our room was a little dated, it was kept spotlessly clean, we were provided with clean towels every day and plentiful supplies on...

We have stayed here in the past so we knew it was good. Decided to visit for Sunday dinner to round off a weekend away. Roast lamb was really good. Very big portions. Service was great. Nothing was too much trouble. The barman even brought water over for our dog without us asking. Brilliant. We will be back.

My sister and I had a night here while touring the Lakes, and on the whole were pleased with our choice. The room was not very big, but the outlook was lovely. Shower was electric, but nice and hot. Heating was efficient. Good sized mugs and plenty of tea bags and milk. Coniston is surprisingly quiet and we were pleased...
