How Foot Lodge is in a fantastic location and is so peaceful and tranquil, despite being on a main road into Grasmere. The hosts Kate and Mike could not do enough for us and as I was poorly all week we were there, they made us feel very welcome and comfortable, which helped my recovery. Our little dog was also...

My partner and I spent a weekend here on October, staying in the 'Sun Lounge' room, although with snow on the ground, the sun lounge was too cold to use. However, the room was delightful, warm and comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was superb, enhanced by the log fire crackling in the hearth. I can heartily recommend this B&B to...

Everything was perfect about our stay, from the warm welcome we were shown, the amazingly comfortable bed and pillows, the gorgeous breakfast and the ideal location. We stayed in the room with the conservatory on, it was warm & cosy, unfortunately it was too cold for us to make use of the conservatory in late November....we will just have to...

We are regular visitors to Grasmere and How Foot Lodge is our usual B&B. Experienced nearly all the rooms now and never had a bad room or bad nights sleep. The breakfast is good with cereals, fresh fruit and several cooked options. Prices are very reasonable for Grasmere. Looking forward to our next visit for my birthday in October.

This was a great find. The room (sun lounger) was large and spacious and very relaxing. The location ( close to Dove cottage)is good and quiet. We had an excellent breakfast in the morning. For the lakes and grasmere the pricing is very competitive and excellent value for money

We really enjoyed staying here. Kate was very welcoming and friendly. The room was great. Nice clean bathroom, really comfortable beds, the breakfast range was good and the fry-ups (meat and vegetarian options) were spot on. We we definitely recommend staying here :-)

Visited for one night on the Coast to Coast walk. Very welcoming and a lovely large room with a shower over the bath. Beautiful house and wonderful breakfast of a lovely fresh fruit salad. Visited 18 B and Bs/Guest houses/ pubs in 18 nights and this was one of the best. Will visit again.

This was our first stay here although our friends we stayed with have been coming regularly for the past 15 years or so. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, large comfortable rooms with character and excellent breakfasts with lovely fresh fruit salad as starters. The location is very good for lots of walks.
