The hotel is undergoing a rolling programme of refurbishment. The top floor had been done at the time of our visit but sadly not the room we had at that time. Our room was comfortable and quiet. Some things were not as we would have wished (such as the shower with such huge pressure it had to be held by...

We''ve stayed at the Oak Bank many times now and still keep coming back. The room we stayed in has a great view over to Silver Howe, with the facilities in the room ticking all the right boxes - comfortable bed, bathroom with great shower and lovely large white fluffy towels. Food as always was fabulous, we so looked forward...

If Grasmere is on your Lake District itinerary then stay here and enjoy some the finest food around. The quail and the venison are outstanding, and the wine list has something for everyone's taste. Can't praise this hotel enough. From walking through the door you are made to feel very welcome. We stayed on the top floor with wonderful views across the rooftops to the fells. The room is well planned and there is ample storage space and hangers. Toiletries are good quality and the towels are huge! The food is superb. Good choice,...

We are very much torn between shouting the praise for this lovely hotel from the rooftops and keeping quiet so as to keep this gem to ourselves. We only stayed for one night to celebrate an anniversary but we came away rested and relaxed and will definitely be booking for a longer stay next time. We stayed in a Superior...
