This was our 3rd stay at this hotel in the last couple of years and our first since the refurb and we would not hesitate to stay again. The suite was clean, very spacious with an excellent view. All the staff were friendly and someone was always available if needed. Perfect place to relax in comfort. Love Grasmere and this...

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night 5th November and then for 2 nights across the road at The Little Inn. Staff are super friendly and a lovely guy on reception who knew that we were checking in at the Little Inn after we had checked out here sorted things so we could check in early - thank...

Very nice, warm and welcoming pub-style hotel in a great location. Unfortunately, breakfast is not served until 8.00am which is simply too late for a day walking on the fells. Even worse, they flatly refused to let me have a cold breakfast (simple croissant and orange juice) at 7.30 even though I requested that the evening before.

The setting is undoubtedly beautiful. Grasmere as a village is very attractive. However, there lies the problem. We got the impression from the staff that they weren't that bothered as Grasmere is so pretty they will always be busy. The welcome was off hand, the lack of car parking (even to drop bags off) was dismissed as unimportant. The room...

The hotel is easy to find. Very friendly, helpful staff. The lounge has plenty of comfortable chairs/sofas and a nice place to meet up and relax with friends an family. The food is excellent and reasonably price and nice size portions. You have the choice of where to eat, either in the restaurant or inn or the glass house. Dog...

A very relaxing stay in a comfortable, welcoming hotel. Understandably for a small village hotel, parking is tight, but the manager made every effort to help us secure a space when we arrived. One or two minor room issues were dealt with quickly and efficiently by the staff, and the leisure facility ( a pool and small gym) was very...

We visited the lakes with my parents and our 3 children. The hotel is well located in Grasmere a nice village with a few shops a pub and a couple of cafes. The hotel itself is well appointed with comfy lounges and a nice pub style bar. Rooms are very comfy having been recently updated but bathrooms are a bit...

My second visit to this hotel located in the centre of Grasmere. There is limited parking as mentioned in several reviews but there is a long term car park option about 400 yards away so really not a problem. My primary purpose of staying is to walk on the hills and the location of the hotel is perfect for this....

For a taste of luxury in the glorious heart of lakeland. Set deep in the heart of Wordsworth country, our privately owned Lake District Hotel, traditionally an historic inn playing host to travellers for centuries, offers you a warm, genuinely hospitable welcome that makes you feel instantly at ease and at home as soon as you step through the door. Idyllically situated right in the centre of Grasmere, with magnificent views of the hills all around, you can enjoy being part of village life one minute and the next, be miles away, with just the fresh Lakeland air and glorious open countryside for company. Here, life is beautiful. As you would expect from the long traditions, our service is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere relaxed and easy where you can enjoy a board game or two in the air-conditioned lounge area or browse the papers, while from the conservatory you can gaze at the ever-changing Lake District landscape. At our luxury Lakeland Hotel we provide you with all you could wish for - richly furnished, beautifully appointed bedrooms, an excellent choice of food, a gorgeous indoor heated pool with spa bath, steam room, sauna and fitness room. For centuries the hotel has been a haven for travellers, with tasty fare, great ales and warm hospitality. Today we pride ourselves in offering traditional food in harmony with modern cooking. Enjoy a cosy and relaxing atmosphere in the snug Lamb Inn with a pint of hand-pulled traditional beer and a tasty bar meal to satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. Dine in splendor in our 1769 Restaurant with our table d'hote dinner menu offered every evening, where the menu is depicted by the seasons and the fresh produce available. Our Chef will cater for any dietary requirements and is always happy to cook your favourite dishes (with a little notice of course). The Easedale Bar, The Glass House Conservatory and Helvellyn Lounge offer a comfortable spot to watch the world go by, enjoy a scrumptious snack at lunchtime or a spot of afternoon tea. We provide you with all you could wish for. Richly furnished, beautifully appointed rooms in which to unwind, most with sparkling spa baths to ease tired limbs after a wonderful day's walk. And friendly service to bring you a refreshment, while you drink in the Lakeland panorama. All rooms have en-suite facilities, television with satellite channels, wi-fi, CD player, ipod docking station, a welcome refreshment tray, direct dial telephone, hairdryer and trouser press. Our Club rooms feature separate comfy seating areas with television, bathrobes, slippers, complimentary bottled water and daily newspaper.
