Just had a very short mini break (one night only) at The Red Lion with my friends. The hotel is in a great location and has had a major upgrade recently, the Reception area bar area and lounge are light and airy with lovely comfy seats. We had booked dinner, bed, breakfast and afternoon tea (plus a bottle of Prosecco...

Visited Grasmere for a two night mid week break and secured a very reasonable bed and breakfast deal at The Red Lion. Although part of a well known hotel chain The Red Lion has lots of character, given it's history as a former coaching inn. The staff were helpful and welcoming. The recent refurbishment is very evident and the bedrooms...

Recently visited the Red Lion for the first time in almost 14 years. Last time I visited was with my mother, father, brother and sister for a weekend. Returned with my partner. Loved every minute and will be returning in the not too distant future with my toddler son. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Just stayed one night at the red lion. Firstly the refurb is great, the whole hotel doesn't feel like a typical best western. Lovely bar and dining area, food was nice and the log fire inviting after a day walking. The room was lovely too but the bed mattress was uncomfy and the radiator in the bathroom was broken so...

Brought my parents here for an anniversary trip. The hotel is lovely .. central location (not many parking spaces however there are plenty of places around the village to park) and as its a tiny village nothing is too far away. They have just completed a refurb and what a difference lovely new furnishings making it light and airy ......

We have visited The Red Lion Hotel many times over the past five years both for food and as a resident. On Thursday I visited for a meal and was pleasantly surprised by the recent and on-going make over, it looks and feels amazing. The meal itself again was just as good, thoroughly enjoyed. That good that we went back...

Idyllically situated right in the centre of Grasmere, with magnificent views of the hills all around, you can enjoy being part of village life one minute and the next, be miles away, with just the fresh Lakeland air and glorious open countryside for company. Here, life is beautiful. As you would expect from the long traditions, our service is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere relaxed and easy where you can enjoy a board game or two in the air-conditioned lounge area or browse the papers, while from the conservatory you can gaze at the ever-changing Lake District landscape. Dine in splendor in our 1769 Restaurant with our table d'hote dinner menu offered every evening, where the menu is depicted by the seasons and the fresh produce available. Our Chef will cater for any dietary requirements and is always happy to cook your favourite dishes (with a little notice of course). The Easedale Bar, The Glass House Conservatory and Helvellyn Lounge offer a comfortable spot to watch the world go by, enjoy a scrumptious snack at lunchtime or a spot of afternoon tea. We provide you with all you could wish for. Richly furnished, beautifully appointed rooms in which to unwind, most with sparkling spa baths to ease tired limbs after a wonderful day's walk.
