This hotel has been our port of call for the last 5 years or so when visiting the lakes. Love the location which is ideal for all levels of walking ability. A walk into Grasmere is no more than 10 minutes giving access to the cafes, restaurants & bars. The hotel itself is large so the rooms reflect this with...

Afternoon tea at the Daffodil is currently £19.50pp, from 12-5pm. We had no problem making reservations on the day (Monday, 24 April). We were shown straight to our table and offered water, which was appreciated. They also asked for any food intolerances or preferences. The beige dining room felt tightly packed, not intimate. There were children in the aisle between...

Went for afternoon tea... the manager was so rude and judgemental. We then went for a spa afternoon with treatments the therapist who did my facial was horrific. The treatment rooms was freezing and damp towels Would NEVER go back.

We have been visiting Grasmere for years and even stayed at this hotel in a previous incarnation. However, the new owners have transformed the hotel into a truly luxurious place to stay. We came for 4 nights over Easter and were impressed before we even arrived when Ollie rang us the day before to check everything was booked in and...

Based in easy walking distance of the village of Grasmere this hotel offers a splash of luxury at reasonable prices. Best prices from my experience seem to come from booking direct and this commitment to offer value for money was reflected across our entire stay. From the luxury Molton Brown toiletries on offer to the fantasic locally sourced sausages at...

We arrived for check-in at 3PM, only to find that they had no record of our booking or payment. We provided them with our confirmation email, and booking number, and were told to take a seat in the bar. We weren't offered a drink, and were left sat there for twenty minutes. After a five hour drive, this was not...

We visited as a four for the most luxurious of afternoon teas after a walk around Grasmere. The view from the dining room was lovely and the restaurant setting itself modern and relaxing- you could also choose to have the afternoon tea in the lounge for a more laid back option. When it arrived the staff talked you through all...

We stayed at the Daffodil in March 2017. On the whole our stay at the hotel was most pleasant, however, there were a few potential improvements and issues ... Positives... - The food was very nice - we thoroughly enjoyed every single meal we ate at the hotel. - The service in the restaurant and bar was brilliant. - The...

The good: overall staff where friendly and helpful. Spa area is well nearly well kept and relaxing. The hotel grounds sit wonderfully by the Lake and just a short walk from grasmere centre. The bad: the room was very noisy could hear lots of banging and vacuum cleaners going off from 7am. Tap on sink leaked out , shower head...

The Daffodil is a large hotel with a great spa outside of the lovely town of Grassmere. The hotel is directly across the street from the home of William Wordsworth. There is an on site restaurant which has decent food, although its a short walk to the village of Grassmere, which has many other options. The hotel sits in a...
