Visited the hotel for a Saturday evening / Sunday. Spa recently re-opened. Enjoyed relaxing in the spa pool and a lovely meal in the restaurant. Friendly helpful staff. Great location with great views and short walk to Grasmere village. Finished with a really good breakfast.

My husband took me here for a two night birthday treat in November - he booked months ago having done lots of research. We arrived after a five hour drive, at lunchtime and as our room wasn't ready, we had a pot of tea in the sitting room, which has stunning views over Lake Grasmere. Its an easy walk to...

I would love to give the hotel perfect marks but I can't. However, it is damn near perfect. Let me explain the good points. Firstly when we arrived we asked to see if there was an upgrade available. They did everything to facilitate us with this and even managed to sort it so we could stay in there for our...

Stayed for one night, very nice hotel. Very modern. Staff all very nice and helpful. Had a meal in the restraurant, quite pricey but very good quality food. The spa was very clean and quite big for a hotel. I would definitely recommend this hotel for a countryside break.

The newly refurbished Daffodil occupies a superb location on the shores of Grasmere, with beautiful views over the lake and fells. The traditional building has been restored & modernised to a high standard and the staff were friendly & well-trained. However, although the standard of food was very good, there was no day to day variation in the menu &...

Amazing break away. Lovely staff and the spa was amazing. Highly recommended. Just stayed the one night and had a great meal there. Checking in was very easy no problems. Good selection of drinks available. Will be back

First, the good: My room was large and had been refurbished pretty recently. The bed was very comfy. Check in was quick and efficient. Now, the bad: The hotel advertises itself as having free wi-fi, but it is so slow as to be non-existent. I failed to load a single webpage at any time. The concierge blamed the speed on...

We booked in for lunch. Initially we were impressed that the member of staff who greeted us in the car park escorted us to the restaurant. However we couldn't understand why he led us through the lovely looking sitting room only to deposit us at the dining table. Why not sit us in the sitting room and serve us our...

Stayed here for one night with my other half for a birthday getaway. Rooms were very posh and spotlessly clean. We used the spa which was absolutely amazing, the pool was brilliant and we would highly recommend the mud rasul (even better that we got it on autumn promotion). However we were very disappointed with the restaurant, we prepayed for...

Visited the daffodil hotel today for afternoon tea after good reviews heard. Setting was fine, nice surroundings etc. Was asked if we wanted tea or coffee, I had tea, but waitress forgot the milk, we asked for more but she forgot again, so we got up for some. Not a big deal really but tea ended up like warm. The...
