Booked dinner here for NYE after a recommendation and so glad we did. From taking the booking to the service on the evening the staff were friendly helpful and efficient. The food was of a high standard we both had the beef for the main course and it melted in the mouth. The length of time between courses was just...

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed New Years Eve with us. We take on board your comments abut the meal - it is difficult on NYE trying to get a time that suits all. We hope to see you again soon.

Just returned from another post New Year break in lovely Hawkshead. Have stayed in many of the village pubs over the years but have to say that the Queens is now going to be our first choice from now on after a fantastic stay. The price is a little more than those we have previously stopped at but the saying...

1) Great staff that worked hard, with quality customer service. 2) Food excellent for Breakfast and Evening meal. Breakfast took a little while because it was cooked to order. The Sausages are amazing. 3) Nish, the Reception Manager dealt with our dislike for ROOM 7 immediately we raised it with him. Top service and he enquired if everything was OK...

Enjoyed a very relaxing lunch and drinks in this pub on a very wet NYEve. Very cosy, staff friendly and very attentive. We were made to feel welcome. Food very good (sandwiches) as well as soft drinks selection. Wish we could return for NY itself! Accommodation upstairs looked good too.

The Queens Head is a lovely B&B located in the heart of Hawkshead. It has a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The staff are very attentive also. We stayed in room 10 which was a standard double room (no bath, shower only). The room was tastefully decorated but was a little too snug for our liking. The double bed had a...

Thank you for your review. We were disappointed to read your comments about the room. Your feedback at check out was actioned - the bed tested and a new mattress ordered - so thank you! As we are not a purpose built hotel we do have rooms of varying sizes. It's always worth booking directly with us so your requirements...

Absolutely love this pub and will never tire of staying here. The rooms are cosy and comfortable and spotlessly clean. The pub itself has a good atmosphere and an extensive menu to suit all tastes. Will definitely return. A good breakfast selection and is in a great location.

Can't rate this place highly enough!! We were made to feel so welcome from the start and all of the staff were friendly and polite. The room was absolutely fantastic and surpassed all of our expectations! The food was also a major highlight, especially the Soft Shell Crab Slider and Squid ink Tagliatelle! We will definitely be returning again in...

I picked the best place that we've stayed in since Barbados. It wasn't the cheapest option in Hawkshead but the pictures on TA looked better for here than the others and it surpassed our expectations. It came with a large room with lounge area, hallway and massive bathroom, including substantial bath and separate shower cubicle. Exposed beams add to the...

Although weather was poor we had a lovely stay at the Queens Head. We booked a superior double and it was spacious and well appointed. Four poster was nice as was great bathroom. Only would say that toiletries bolted to wall fittings made it difficult to get soap into bath if bubbles were wanted - and they were after a...

We were recommended this place at our B&B and so knew that Monday was 'Steak Night'. Two steaks were ordered and greatly enjoyed. The chips were excellent, golden and dry and very tasty.
