We stayed for 2 nights on a Groupon offer. We were welcomed by the manager, who carried my case up to room 7. The room was very clean and looked great but, unfortunately, the ceiling sloped so much that it made moving around the room difficult. The tea and coffee making facilities were under the eaves and you had to... More

We were made to feel very welcome from the minute we arrived with the manager helping us carry our bags to our room. We stayed in room 6 and it was lovely cosy and warm despite the cold temperatures outside. We ate in the hotel both nights as the food was fantastic highly recommended and all the staff can't do... Stayed here on bonfire night with my partner. We were greeted by 2 members of staff who showed us straight to our room (Room 2) the 4 poster room, and it really is a lovely room. We more or less headed straight out to explore Hawkshead. We returned before 5pm in the hope of watching the rugby as we noticed... More

The pub was very busy for half term and it was essential to book a table. The food was excellent and they have a choice of 40 types of gin! Prices were reasonable and service was efficient and friendly. Would definitely return.

We ended up in the sun inn after a wonderful day out and about around Windermere After visiting Beatrix Potter's house nearby we took the kids and dog for a walk in Hawkhead in the late afternoon. The countryside is just astonishing especially this time of year. The food at the sun inn was well prepared and the best we... More

All six of us received a very warm welcome from the minute we arrived. The food was good and the three bedrooms very comfortable, clean and well equipped with TV, kettle, hair drier, on-suite. We found the staff very polite, attentive and accommodating - we all thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

We've just returned from a couple of nights and really enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful and welcoming and the food was really enjoyable. I'm 6'6" so struggled a bit in this quaint inn with low ceilings and beams everywhere, but staff continually reminded me to duck! Would happily return on another occasion.

Sat outside on a warm evening and enjoyed tasty food and a nice selection of local ales. Steaks were excellent and tasty seafood linguine. Save room for pudding though. Despite the lack of a chocolate option aside from ice cream the bread and butter and sticky toffee pudding more than made up for it. Best option was the cheeseboard which... More

The food was incredible. Pub food and good drink selection. The family room was spacious, bed was comfortable, and shower was hot with good water pressure. Wifi was spotty in the rooms. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Dog lovers welcome.
