Stayed here several times now with our dog. Friendly Owner and staff. Food delicious and reasonably priced. Made very welcome, including our dog, nothing to much trouble. Can't wait to visit again. Definitely recommend to our friends who have dogs.

We stayed here for a long weekend over Easter and had a great experience. The pub is very cosy and is definitely still a proper pub (compared to the other pubs in Hawkshead which are now more like soulless restaurants). It is always busy and lively and has a good range of ales and really decent wines. The bar food...

All the staff are so friendly and welcoming, it was a pleasure to stay here. The food is fantastic - we stayed on a bed, breakfast and dinner deal and looked forward to the evening meal every day! Our room felt freshly decorated, was well fitted out and had a nice quality hospitality tray. Only downside was the size of...

We were on the hunt for a vegan friendly pub and the staff at the Kings arms went above and beyond. We rung the day before our visit to book a table and although they didn't have a specific vegan meal on the menu they put together a special dish for my vegan friend which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Lunch food served until 2:30, we arrived just on 2:30 and they served us. Ordered the Lakeland Tapas, Garlic Bread and Bowl of Chips to share between 2of us and it was delicious. The young guys who served us was very polite and very helpful. Well recommended. We will be back.

Busy, friendly, great atmosphere, great beer, good manager / owner whom plays the host very well, just needs a bit of updating we felt. Probably limited by age and listings and maybe ownership but a new bar with fridges and getting rid of the wine in a bucket on the bar would just polish the experience. Good place don't read...

I stayed here with family for a Friday night recently. The pub is old and the rooms are therefore understandably small but clean and comfortable. There were TVs in each room along with a tea tray, complimentary toiletries and free wifi. The pub was very busy and we had fortunately booked a table for dinner. The food was delicious and...

We stayed 2 nights in the Kings Arms and ate here 1 night and were well impressed !! The other pubs in the village are nice but the Kings Arms is a real traditional pub with a great selection of different real ales and the food was excellent with great sized portions. Saturday night had a turn on and the...

Sadly not what we had hoped or expected, Fern cottage is one to avoid. It is in need of modernisation throughout , bathrooms were like stepping back to the 70,s ( Olive & Red suites) , carpets were old fashioned, furniture was a mis match of odd pieces , without much thought to co- ordination, and curtains were hanging on...
