Where do we start? The location, the rooms, the staff? Yewfield is located near busy Ambleside, Hawkshead and Tarn Hows, yet it is a haven of tranquility. All you hear is bird song. All you see are the azaleas in the semi wild garden, backed by magnificent views. Dog owners are welcome to walk in the 80 acres of gardens...

What a wonderfully relaxing short break we had here. Lovely garden giving very peaceful surroundings for our stay. Super king size bed very comfy and good size room with nice en suite bathroom. Log burning stove in the lounge and a conservatory are nice touches. But it was the breakfast that made it so enjoyable. Lovely tasty veggie cooked options...

My first time in Lake District and this place was a little peace of heaven. It is a vegetarian Bed & Breakfast, well isolated from anywhere and just perfect for a lovely stay. We had a lovely room overlooking a spice garden. The whole building was just beautiful, well maintained and cosy overlooking the Vale of Esthwaite. A peaceful and...

We spent a lovely Easter weekend at Yewfield. We chose this guesthouse because we wanted somewhere that would cater to vegans, and they did not disappoint! There was so much choice for breakfast - we didn't miss out on anything (even getting scrambled tofu in place of eggs!). We were in the Juniper room, which was fantastic - plenty of...

Pleasantly surprised by how nice this place was. We had a standard room and it was a great size, huge bed, large en-suite - the room was beautifully presented. The building itself is huge, clean and spacious and set in lovely gardens. We walked down to Hawkshead in the evening for a pub meal. Nice 25 mins walk, but pitch...

Yewfield is a gothic grey stone manor tucked into the hills outside Hawkshead. My wife and I arrived on a cold, wet March afternoon to be greeted by the delicious smoky smell of a wood fire burning in the lounge. The small reception desk was unstaffed but there was an envelope marked with our name containing a key and directions...

The room was beautfiul and the setting is really perfect, so peaceful with wonderful walks right from the door. Breakfast was really delicious, great choice of smoothies, juices, cereals, yoghurts and cooked breakfast. The atmosphere there is so relaxing, it really does recharge your batteries. Can't wait to go again!

Yewfield Vegetarian Guest House in Ambleside (Check in was at 2). It is down some lovely single tracked country lanes. It is a beautiful building in the middle of the countryside. We were greeted and taken to our room as soon as we entered and given a choice of 2 rooms. We had booked via the special rate (£90 for...

Thank you for the review Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay, sorry you found the room chilly all I can think is that we had some problem with a motorised valve and room 8 was affected because normally that room is very warm. With best wishes Derek
