We stayed at Stonecross on a Groupon deal and booked an additional night at the reduced rate of £70. The hotel is quite dated but plans are in place for a 'face lift' which is much needed. Staff were extremely friendly throughout from the welcome on reception to the service at the bar and in the restaurant. We arrived a...

We have been to this hotel a couple of times. The groupon deal is fantastic value for money and the food, staff and spa facilities were excellent. We stayed in the four poster bed room. The whirlpool bath was fantastic but the bed was truly uncomfortable with springs sticking up everywhere. The decor definitely needs an update as the times...

As others have said the hotel is in need of an update. Our room was good size, comfy sofa but bed/mattress was uncomfy and room very warm. Floor boards and bed very creaky and could hear noise quite clearly from rooms above and adjacent. Bathroom in dire need of an udpate - no shower, just a corner bath with shower...

Lovely big room, 4 poster bed. Needed decorating, but I think it will be done as there are works taking place (surrepticiously) in the hotel at the moment. Food and service very good. Nice choice of beers!

Went to this hotel for an Easter Break, although this was not our first choice. We booked through expedia for the Windermere Hydro. This hotel could not honour our booking due to renovation work. We booked the Stonecross ourselves. The hotel is in need of, and is in fact due to have, renovation. Old and dated. Having said that, very...

The reception area and the restaurant and rooms need a complete renovation. Very dated and old shabby looking. The food was awful!! We walked out of the restaurant because our 2 boys got raw chicken and I got beef that was like tough leather when I actually ordered lamb. Looked like it had been microwaved to warm it up. My...
