We were attending a 70th birthday party nearby and decided to treat ourselves to a stay at Stonecross. We were not disappointed. Everyone on the staff were very friendly, welcoming yet professional. They took a genuine interest in us as guests. The room 215 was smartly furnished and a massive really comfortable bed. Everything worked as intended and was spotless. Breakfast was superb.all in all a great stay and one that we will repeat. Thank you.

What lovely, friendly and welcoming staff! Downstairs there are large comfortable reception rooms, we had coffee in the lounge with a lovely mermaid sculpture on the windowsill which I loved. Our bedroom was great with fab shower/bath etc, bed was huge and really comfortable. For us, the icing on the cake was the swimming pool and steam room, because of covid we had it all to ourselves, what's not to love about your own private pool with all the facilities and soft fluffy towels?! We decided to stay in for dinner, good decision, as it was delicious, with again really great and friendly service. Breakfast was yummy and massive, we rolled out and went for 5 mile walk in the hills behind the hotel. All in all a perfect stay - so special thanks to Helen and Hazel and we'll no doubt see you again!

My Mum and myself decided to book our Christmas Day lunch here. We duly paid our deposit and then the balance (before it was due). Sadly my mum suffered a Haemorrhagic stroke on Saturday 18th December. Once we knew how severe it was and how long potentially she would be in hospital I spoke with Helen from the hotel to advise we would need to cancel our booking. Mum was discharged some 3 weeks later and I contacted the hotel to see if we could use the money they held for us as a family lunch or afternoon tea only to be told no as I hadn’t asked this at the time then they wouldn’t let us use this money. On the day I rang to cancel they last thing on my mind was request this booking be moved to another time or use elsewhere in the hotel, I was more concerned with would they be able to stop the bleed on my mums brain so she didn’t have another stroke! No empathy or flexibility from Zoe who replied to my email. Must say what an easy way for them to make a quick £130, hope they can live with that.

Meal out on New Year’s Day. Food was delicious & we thought good value for money, with 2 courses for £25 or 3 for £30. Staff very helpful & friendly. Would definitely recommend. COVID precautions taken very seriously & we felt very safe. We will return.

Stayed two days after a hectic Christmas. Hotel was lovely, all staff welcoming and efficient. Covid precautions in place, but not intrusive. Ate one night in the restaurant. Although some may say slightly expensive, the quality and quantity was first class. Will return in the New Year for a family celebration.
