Really nice place to stay, excellent breakfast, warm welcome and all in a good location. Russell and Marie were perfect hosts, they provided us with good information regarding restaurants in the area, as well as maps and guidance for the walks we had planned. They also ensured we were home safe after one of our walks due to weather conditions... More

Very handy location in quiet street near town centre. Perfect for walking or sight seeing. Very friendly welcome. Smart, clean and well-maintained rooms. Even somewhere to dry wet clothes and muddy boots. Excellent breakfast.

We spent 2 nights here and you would be hard pressed to find more solicitous owners than Russell and his wife. Chefs in their own right, the complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious. Any request for assistance was met with enthusiasm re: information on treks, restaurant reviews or personal needs. The lounge was a very comfortable area to relax in with... More

We have just completed a four night stay here and the hotel was marvellous. Russell and Marie were extremely friendly and very helpful. The breakfasts are just the job for a day's exploration of the fells, the bath and shower are just the job at the start and end of the day. Everywhere was very clean and the hotel was... More

Our room was furnished to a high standard and had a comfy bed, fluffy towels, hot power shower and complimentary toiletries. There is a really nice, relaxing sitting room available if required. The choice at breakfast is excellent and is... More

Travelling solo I stayed here for 3 nights and was made to feel welcome right from the start. Russell and Marie were a pleasure to meet and the hotel was recently decorated. Breakfast was delicious and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending you stay here.
