The Rowan Tree is by far the best guest house I have stayed at in Keswick. I regularly come to this buzzy town as a base to climb the fells and have stayed in a few different places, none of which quite live up to this special place for me. The hosts, Paul and Ann looked after us superbly. They... More

This was our second visit to Rowan Tree, this time under the new ownership of Anne and Paul. We stayed in room 1 on this occasion, a tastefully decorated en suite room. No outlook, only scaffolding but if the weather had been better we wouldn't have even noticed it. Lovely cooked breakfast along with a choice of cereals and fruit.... More

Visited the Lakes as part of a Mountain Bike weekend and stayed at the RTGH. The whole experience including the flexibility shown during the booking process was great. Great hospitality, room and what a breakfast!!!. For those who enjoy MTB it is an ideal place to stay and the bikes are well looked after too.

This place is a real find and we will stay again if we come to keswick. Very clean, well located just off the centre of the town. Lovely cosy room. Friendly welcome from the owners who couldn't have been more friendly, flexible or accommodating and that breakfast.....wow. its one of the best hotel breakfasts I've ever had. All in all... More

Had a lovely weekend, thanks to the couple who own it and made sure everything was just right for guests. Room was very comfortable and clean. Had really good sleeps. Bathroom spotless and great water pressure in the shower. The breakfast is outstanding. Definitely will stay again.

The room was absolutely tiny, with the smallest en-suite I've ever seen (or tried to get into). The owners were very friendly and helpful, however, and the cleanliness was excellent. I think I would have preferred to have shared a normal-sized bathroom with other guests rather than trying to squeeze into a cupboard to try to brush my teeth etc.

Good central location, easy walking distance from town. But far enough away to be quiet on the evening. Very well appointed rooms with some lovely touches. Fantastic traditional breakfast, great hosts Paul and Ann, very accommodating for hill walkers.

We had a three night stay at one of the most excellent guest houses you could wish for. The room was spacious and very well appointed and the welcome tray was full of a really lovely selection of goodies. Breakfast is a sight to behold;with the title full English not being special, enough, to describe it. Suffice to say the plate... More
