Stayed in keswick for long weekend. Me and my partner both ate here twice for lunch. On our first visit I had a lovely ham sandwich with salad and crips. My partner had a jacket potato which he enjoyed. The second time we ate here I had the roast beef Sunday lunch which was lovely. The beef was nice and soft. My partner had the Cumberland sausage which he liked. I would recommend eating here. The staff were helpful.
We have just had 1 week in Keswick. We’ve been in the kings arms around 3 times. It stil have Christmas decs on the outside, it looks lovely!! One visit we came and they were a chef down there was a 30 mins wait before we could order , but it was so worth the wait! Food was superb! Lovely atmosphere pub and then cosy when you get sat by the fire! Definitely worth a visit!
Where to start …All the staff were amazing nothing was to much trouble .Manager JP was exceptional Christmas Day he did not stop he was barman waiter host so many hats he wore that day to make sure everyone had a wonderful Christmas day and we did. What ever you asked him he did his best to make sure you had it I know he hasn’t been there that long and it was his first Christmas we would certainly go back and have told many people what a wonderful place this was the pub was decorated like a winter wonderland it made you feel so Christmassy everyone was so friendly and chatted it made such a difference . The food was superb the chef was amazing everything from breakfast lunch and dinner was cooked to perfection . The bedrooms were lovely and clean the linen was lovely we had a room where you could take a dog in but we could not find a dog here anyway it was spotless when we arrived we had a lovely bottle of Prosecco we had a tin of lovely shortbread the dog had his own Selection box left in the room there was a lovely dog bed and bowls. I would not hesitate in recommending the Kings Arms at any time of year but Christmas is very special and we hope to go back I would like to once again thank all the staff for everything they did to make her stay so special and JP keep doing what you’re doing you’re brilliant best wishes Sue and Richard Smith…
Ate in the restaurant of this lovely pub last night. Despite being severely short staffed due to unexpected absences (down to one instead of three) the waitress was friendly and surprisingly cheerful. She was also extremely efficient and made sure tables were cleaned property before seating customers. Our food took slightly longer to arrive than usual which we were not concerned about given the circumstances, and it was all absolutely delicious. The pork belly was cooked beautifully which some fine dining restaurants can’t manage, and the beef on the Sunday roast was perfect. We couldn’t manage dessert but had another round of drinks, all served with a smile. I wish I’d asked the name of the waitress, she worked so hard but kept smiling. Will definitely be back.
We planned for a Christmas away from the hoi polloi of London and our choice was Lake Distinct. Windermere has always been a crowded destination. Considering Keswick is preferable due to its pristine location, proximity to northern lakes and walking trails. Now, Kings Arms looked to us one of the best boutique hotel experience in the country. Their proactive service, quality of food and courteous attitude have won our hearts. We booked their special Christmas package from 24th Dec and 27th Dec and we tasted best of English food there. Local variety like pheasant or venison was really excellent. We met a lot of people and shared a very cordial moments. We recommend Kings Arms for any vacation in the Lake District.
