We enjoyed a lovely couple of nights at Cumbria House. The owners, James and Ruth were very helpful and friendly. The property is very well maintained and nicely decorated. The breakfast choice and quality is really good. It is literally 5-10 minute walk into the centre of Keswick and another 10-15 minutes and your on the Derwentwater lake front. We...

This was our second visit to Cumbria House and it was better than the first, which was great. Ruth and James are lovely people, so friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are very clean and spacious, with lots of extras including a coffee machine, which was great, and a large comfy bed. It was...

Ruth and James have a wonderful place, great location, the most comfortable bed, breakfasts that have to be seen to be believed. If this is a typical B and B ,I'm sure it has set a very high standard that others will find difficult to match, I am looking forward to visiting others

My partner and myself have stayed here twice now. James and Ruth are lovely and nothing is too much for them. Rooms are immaculate and have everything you need. Breakfast choice is fantastic, and everything we had was fresh and tasty. Plus it is a very short walk to the centre of Keswick. Will definitely be back here again. Love...

Lovely, immaculate property within walking distance of Keswick centre. The breakfasts were excellent and the owners are two of the nicest people you could wish to meet. They were so welcoming, we'll definitely be back

Booked Cumbria House for a short break in August. Had two rooms - a double and a single, both en-suite. Very clean and light and airy, with nice quality fittings and bed linen (albeit we had feather duvet and pillows; with hindsight should have asked for polyester throughout, which is an option, given a slight allergy condition for one of...

If I ever ran a B&B I'd aim for it to be as good as Cumbria House. The owners couldn't have been more helpful. The food was superb. The whole place had a real air of cleanliness about it and some really thoughtful touches like built-in USB chargers and locally sourced toiletries. I'd highly recommend Cumbria House.

My wife and I just finished our first (and hopefully not last) holiday weekend in Cumbria. We were fortunate to get the last room available at Cumbria House on a busy bank holiday weekend. We arrived before the stated check-in time, but James was kind enough to check us in before heading out for his afternoon bike ride. The accommodation,...

We spent 5 nights here for a girly walking holiday. James and Ruth are absolutely delightful, nothing is too much trouble for them, they are very welcoming, advised us on walks to do, provided maps, and even provided us with a mini fridge for our room. Cumbria House is very well situated a few minutes walk from the town centre,...
