Oakthwaite House is a mid-terrace house built in the traditional style from Cumbrian slate. It is located a few minutes walk from the centre of Keswick but is wonderfully quiet and peaceful. It is family owned and run.It has been lovingly refurbished and converted from a family home into a Guest House. The rooms are large with a very well...

We stayed here for two nights this week, and had a great time. On arrival the owner was very welcoming and friendly. The room was on the small side but had everything we needed. It was decorated well, comfortable and quiet. The only downsides would be the early breakfasts (8:15 and 8:30) and, (although it didnt affect us because we...

The B&B is in a wonderful location, close to the town and all amenities. Breakfast was lovely and the room was modern and very comfortable. Parking is available down all the streets near by so very handy. We will definitely be back. Many thanks.

Excellent location near centre of Keswick. Parking wee bit problematic but usually managed to find somewhere nearby. Problem with breakfast due to illness but were compensated so cannot complain. Narrow window for breakfast not ideal.

Was booked as a birthday treat as I love the Lakes and Keswick in particular. Arrival was fine but I think there had been something of a crisis in the days prior that had threatened our stay but we only found out this on arrival. That said the host was fine with everything. Overall the room was excellent and the...

Could the Oakthwaite House be anymore of a clichéd British B&B? I doubt it. On the positive side very clean, modern and well equipped rooms. But, welcoming.... Breakfast was served between 8:15 and 8:30 yep a 15 minute slot. The house rules included.... 4. We require that groups do not congregate and socialise in rooms". ... Why you may ask....

This wasn't our first visit to Keswick, but it was our first time staying at Oakthwaite house. Booking online was straightforward and we arranged our check-in by telephone on the day of arrival as requested without any problems at all. If you are familiar with this area of Keswick you will be aware of the parking situation, if not, then...
