We had room 2. Beautifully clean, quality furniture, very comfy bed, en suite, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Fantastic welcome from Sayfon, who can't do enough to make your stay comfortable. I had full Cumbrian breakfast which was fabulous and Eggs Benedict -highly recommended. Situated in the centre of Keswick. I could not fault this guest house at all. Hope to...

We have stayed in various B & Bs in Keswick over the years and the Shemara is up with the best of them. We hadn't booked anywhere but saw the Vacancies sign in the window and took a room for the night last weekend. The welcome and so friendly from the Thai landlady and the room was well appointed and...

This restaurant is small and is popular, and I was not able to reserve the dinner until I asked when I wanted to reserve the restaurant because it was the night of my last stay. Thai meal was healthy and it was tasty . I had the rice for the first time since I left Japan three weeks ago.

The last time I stayed here (September 2013) I posted a very positive review and I am very happy to post that the Shemara, with it's proprietors Sayfon and Richard have maintained their immaculate standards. Heartily recommended.

Wonderful guest house . Richard and Sayfon are brilliant hosts. We stayed in room 2 which was small but fine . Lots of little touches made a difference . Tea tray was full of goodies . Breakfast was hearty and we didn't eat for the rest of the day .!!Tried their Thai restaurant and found the homemade food was delicious...

This was not our first stay in this lovely B/B, so this came as no surprise how well presented our room was. Room number 3 has a great bay window looking over Keswick but most important it has the best view of the mountains to the South and West of Keswick. Two very comfy leather chairs and tea making equipment...

Ideally located off main high street. Lovely family who run this and gorgeous Thai food served in the evening. Recommend booking. Had a fabulous walk around Derwent water and really enjoyed our stay. Lovely additional touches in the bedtroom, extra fresh milk provided in the fridge and happy for you to take own wine etc into the restaurant. Fabulous breakfast...

I was going to say this is one of the best B/B we have ever stayed in, that would be a lie, it IS the BEST B/B we have ever stayed in. Richard and Sayfon couldn't do anymore to make our stay more enjoyable. They are friendly, helpful and charming. The rooms are to an excellent standard, better than any...

Firstly, book direct with the guest house as it's cheaper than online sites. Be aware that there is a £5 charge for staying only 1 night and you pay double for single occupancy. Clean, comfortable and very central but limited parking. I was in the attic and the shower was a trickle.

First time staying at this B&B and will definitely be visiting again. Richard and Fon make you feel really welcome and nothing seems too much trouble. We stayed in room 4, the cleanliness and size of the room was excellent. The view of the hills out of the back window was beautiful. Could not fault the choice and quality of...
