We had a lovely stay with Michaela and Stuart here last night (9th Sept 2016). Michaela contact me during the day to confirm what sort of time we may arrive as she would be out of the house for about an hour and would have arranged for someone else to meet us, I said that we'd wait if we were... The rooms are large, clean and modern. The facilities for the guests are super - large lounge and a huge conservatory for the breakfast room. The breakfast was lovely. Wonderful countryside views from all places. The hosts were so friendly and helpful. If we are up the again we will certainly stay there.

Unfortunately I had to cancel my visit due to unforeseen circumstances, though was really looking forward to it. Though this was clearly an inconvenience to the owners, Michaela contacted me and was really understanding and helpfully cancelled the visit and contacted the website which I booked from. I was grateful for her help and this has made me definitely want... More

Wow is all I can say. Stunning room but that failed in comparison to the even more amazing bathroom. Beautiful scenery and lovely home cooked breakfast. Owners make you feel at home in their beautiful home.

Delightful stay with Michaela, Stuart and their daughter Imogen in their superbly appointed rooms at Smithy Cottage. An idyllic location and extremely friendly hosts, we enjoyed the spacious rooms, bathrooms and excellent breakfast. The family is very friendly and welcoming; helpful, attentive and just the perfect blend of chatty without being overly familiar. On Friday night, they babysat our two... More

The term 'B&B' does not do this beautiful little place justice. After spending a few nights here it is a lot lot more than that. I got put up in the smithy by work after a project I am working on had run a little over schedule by approx 3 days. My only disappointment is that I hadn't been put... More

Stayed one night. This accommodation is immaculate. Tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean. Very restful atmosphere. This is a very classy B&B. Michaela was extremely helpful. Great breakfast. A perfect base for exploring the Lakes and an ideal stopping point for M6 travellers. 5 mins, but far enough from the motorway to be completely tranquil.
