Me and my husband were trying to find a place to stay. We didn't pay a buttload of money for one night. I came across this guest house. Great price, the owners were so nice and welcoming. Breakfast way 8 o'clock and it was very tasty. The room was super clean and so was the bathroom. I felt at home...

Myself and 5 friends stopped at Glendale as part of the coast to coast route. The owner Alan greeted us and made sure out bikes were secure. The rooms were clean and comfortable. He was very knowledgeable about the area and helpful. The breakfast was really nice and set us up for the day. I would highly reccomend.

Greeted by a very happy, enthusiastic & slightly eccentric owner we were led to our rooms the rooms are clean and of reasonable size if a little dated and traditional in decor & carpets. The in house rules are defiantly regimented, even having to complete an order form for breakfast the night before, ticking boxes for how many rashes of...

Super family room for us and our two small dogs (Jack Russel Chihuahua crosses), great English breakfast which set us up for the day. Dogs are only permitted in certain rooms so people who may be allergic to dog hairs don't have to be exposed to them - that said the room was spotless with no sign of previous dogs...

Comfortable, warm . friendly, old-fashioned , excellent breakfast, good value. Shower not working properly , implied it was my ineptitude in operating it? Would certainly return. Close to town so easy to find somewhere for an evening meal. Old TV. Remote erratic.

2 soldiers and I stayed at the Glendale during a walking weekend in the local area. Upon arrival, we were greeted into a very warm and friendly environment and were pleased with the camp, albeit we had to find our own car parking space on the nearby public roads. As the evening went on prior to heading out for the...

Stayed one night en route from Scotland to SE England. Picked the guest house specifically because we could stay there with a dog. Impressed with the room and facilities. Parking is on the street outside but we were provided with a permit, no dramas. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. Enjoyed our brief stay and were well looked after by...

We stayed here for one night only but it was very good. We had the four poster bed and the room was very clean, warm and comfortable with crisp bedding and white fluffy towels. The breakfast in the morning was prepared to order and was good. The owners were very friendly. A good value stay.

No complaints - nice owners, big room with good shower and facilities. Within a minute walk of a pub and restaurant and a v good breakfast. Only about 5 mins walk from the station and a great place to use as a base for the Lake District and around.
