The location of this B&B was perfect for spending time in the Lakes. Compared with similar B&Bs it was a fantastic price for the area. Rooms are decorated very nicely, the photos don't do Orrest Cottage justice. Breakfast was fantastic, I only wish we had room for more, there was lots of choice on the menu. There was no parking... Me and my boyfriend recently stayed here, for anyone curious it was the night of the presidential elections and even though it was a bad result imo this B&B made up for it in the morning. Found it a little odd at first that communication was by text and that I didn't meet David (owner) until the morning but the... More

Our son, daughter and their partners chipped in to purchase an accommodation voucher for us to stay here. Our stay was for 2 nights. We booked the loft rooms which were lovely, crisps and tea and coffee making facilities along with dad's, 2 TV 's and 2 shower rooms. The bed was super comfortable and the rooms were warm and... We stayed for two nights due to a family wedding and booked the cottage on the reviews. Have to say they were all spot on, place was lovely, little personal touches , clean, and the breakfast is fantastic, fresh and well cooked by Dave, also great diverse choice. The room had everything you would need. Great location, just round the... More

Sort of an impulse stay as we had some time off work. We stayed the Thursday night and I cannot recommend this place highly enough, quite a quaint cottage that felt very homely, we were greeted on arrival by David who is extremely friendly and must we a say a good cook, the breakfast was very good and comes as... Absolutely excellent value for money. Fantastic location, amenities, breakfast & price. I wouldn't hesitate to visit again and/or recommend. You will not find another place in the area that comes even close on quality, let alone price.

We had a 2 night stay at Orrest Cottage and we enjoyed every moment. David greeted us on our arrival and showed us to our room. (We stayed in No 1 .) It was cosy, comfy and clean. Crisp white sheets and fluffy white towels. Tea and coffee making facilities and biscuits were very welcome. Shower gel, shampoo and hand gel... More

I recently stayed in this B&B for 1 night during a visit to the lakes with my partner and found it to be amazing! David, a man who should be praised for his customer service, was waiting for us upon arrival with our room key and escorted us to our room before asking if he could assist us any further.... More

The B&B is run and owned by David who was really friendly and helpful. Everything was excellent - the room was very clean together with the en-suite bathroom. The breakfast prepared by David was first class with an excellent choice! The breakfast area was really clean with some interesting and quirky items! I wouldn't hesitate in recommending to family and... More

David & Laura would like to invite you to stay with them in their cozy three-story 19th-century Lakeland Cottage situated in the town of Windermere, in the beautiful English Lake District. Orrest Cottage has been refurbished to give a contemporary feel and atmosphere. There are three comfortable en-suite rooms, each able to accommodate two adults. Wake up and look forward to a delicious Lakeland breakfast. To boost your appetite there is lots of fresh Lake District air and certainly plenty of local walks and many starting from just outside the front door. Across the road is the start of the Orrest Head walk, made famous by Lakeland author Alfred Wainwright, it offers you some of the most stunning views over the Lake District fells. We are ideally located just 200m, if you're walking, from either Windermere railway station or the main bus stop at Windermere Tourist Information and we're just the same distance from the centre of town.
