Just had my second stay here, and I will continue to do so. Good value as a pleasant contrast to the greedy hotels etc. and a useful base for getting around from. Its a bunkhouse hostel standard, basic but more than adequate, warm, clean, full equipped kitchen and beanbags lounge. clean rooms with bedding provided. internet and wifi. breakfast included...

This place is handy for the train station - though farther from most of the shops/restaurants which are mostly in Bowness-on-Winderme, although that is walkable. Our room was fine, and there are toilets and showers - although not enough for the number of guests. The facilities are basic, and weren't all that clean. It was hard to get in touch...

Just to let you know Check-in system: The first thing I'd like to say about this place is the check-in system which is not manned. You need to have the cash at the exact amount and put that in an envelope, then in the box. CONS Shower: Next thing is the shower. There are 2 showers, one on the first...

Booked this hostel for my son who is doing DOE in lake district. His first stay was great and went without a hitch. This time round we booked well in advance only to have his booking cancelled with less than a weeks notice - apparently overbooked. This is very disappointing.

Great value stay- no complaints. You check yourself in, nice and quiet. Even though you never see anyone the place was still nice and clean! Location is perfect- close to everything. Would recommend for a very cheap but perfectly good place to stay!

Self catered so we knew we had to check in ourselves. However we stayed 4 nights and only saw the cleaning ladies. Paul who I'm sure is a nice guy and happens to manage the hostel was not seen once. So when hiccups occurred (which they of course did) with room numbers etc, panic broke out because there was no...

Hostel was fairly clean and quiet. Very small room but we made do by storing things under the bed. However we were staying as a couple and our room was obviously a three person room so this would be incredibly cramped! Wifi access across the hostel. Awful showers, could barely get any water out of it and it varied between...

I thouroughly enjoyed staying here. The room was small but very cheap. there is also a living room and kitchen so you can sit there if you want to relax. plus there's plenty of countryside to explore. The location is good too. It's about halfway inbetween the train station and the town centre. you can walk from the hostel to...
