Stayed here with family while attending a friends birthday party at the hotel. Very friendly welcome from the guy in reception who was very helpful with local information. We were booked in early which was a treat. We had an amazing large executive room with a stunning bathroom and the most comfortable bed. Very well appointed room with fridge bath...

Had a really comfortable stay. The room was the largest I have stayed in and the best was the most comfortable ever. The hotel is set in a convenient location for walking to the city centre and is in a traffic free area. There is parking on site. A group of ten of us went to the Belmont as part of a sedate hen doo. The venue is lovely and we were able to park for free with no problems in the car park. I love the grand old building. Booking online was hassle free and my request for no fish selection on the sandwiches was accommodated with...

We recently stayed for 2 nights at The Belmont to attend a wedding. The staff are exceptional in every area of the hotel from reception to the restaurant to the bar. We were made to feel like special guests not just customers. We agree with other reviewers that bed room could do with a "refreshment" but overall, we had a...

We stayed here for one night as a stop over. As we walked into the reception the staff were very nice...but there was a man snoring on the sofa....and loud...not a great start....the room was clean and a good size...we went for a drink but there was a wedding so went straight to the restaurant. Service was good and staff...

We stayed here for two nights for my nephews wedding. We were upgraded to a very large room/suite, which was very kind. The room was clean and very well equipped. The bathroom had good size towels, robes and slippers and a good selection of toiletries. The staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble.

The Belmont is a delightful, quaint hotel. On one side is the lovely New Walk but you are only 5 minutes walk from the station. The rooms are clean and relatively stylish with a bath and shower. Tea and coffee facilities with biscuits etc are also as standard in the rooms. Breakfast is nice with a choice of cereals, yoghurts...

There was a good selection of cakes, pastries, scones and sandwiches, even the waiter was surprised that we had finished everything! Would recommend highly as it is also in a nice relaxed setting and you don't feel rushed.

The room was neat and presentable upon arrival and clean to within an inch of its life. It smelt fresh and was incredibly inviting. The staff were courteous and efficient upon arrival and helped get my case to the room quickly. Special mention and thanks must be given to the Night Porter Dave and to James, Alex and Alice for...

Nice comfortable hotel that needs a little modernisation in the upstairs corridors. Room was a good size with tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer an iron and ironing board. Breakfast was superb, a great selection from the buffet and chaffing dishes. It is also a short walk (10 mins) to the city centre.
